No it won't drop anytime soon. The increase is the result of TSMC cancelling bulk order discount and increasing chip costs by 20%. Nvidia dug a hole when they decided to go with samsung and then jump ship back to TSMC, so any trust they had with TSMC going forward was eroded. Additionally it seems likely that "gaming" graphics is now an afterthought as nvidia is focusing less on the gaming side of things, their focus of late has been, with servers, AI deep learning, automotive ect.Didn’t nVidia get the memo that miners and scalpers are trying to dump all their cards? Those prices are going to have to drop really soon.
Got the RX580, and I'm happy. Although the card heats up quite fast, it's probably a cooling thing from my side. I should probably get another case fan to install on my side panel...So I'm back in the market for a GPU. Still got the i3-7100 and 8GB RAM.
Here are my selections:

All of them are basically the same price. But I don't know which one to go for. The goal here is to get a card that's relatively "new", but should run most games effectively (upgrading from Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti 4GB) without having to upgrade the CPU and of course the MOBO.

Experts, please advise.
What's your current case fan setup?Got the RX580, and I'm happy. Although the card heats up quite fast, it's probably a cooling thing from my side. I should probably get another case fan to install on my side panel...![]()
One exhaust fan at the back (I can only put one there) and I have another space on my side panel for a fan. What's your current case fan setup?
Krikey. You need a new case dudeOne exhaust fan at the back (I can only put one there) and I have another space on my side panel for a fan.

Nope, is shut at the front. But yes, a side-intake fan would help with temps. No space in the front of the case for a fan?
That case you linked does have a fan in the front though, at the bottom. Is yours the same?I happen to like my little case
Nope, is shut at the front.
The fan layout is sort of like this one. I don't think I can add fans in the front of my case, honestly. Although, I do see there are small gaps at the sides of the front panel, so maybe I can?![]()

Nah, I don't have fans in front. That case you linked does have a fan in the front though, at the bottom. Is yours the same?
If you have space for one, add one. If not, add the side panel fan and that'll help the GPU temps. You bought the GPU brand new right?Nah, I don't have fans in front.
Ok cool. Btw I see that my games stutter (i.e. FPS drops) a tiny bit after a while. Like a quick drop and all is back to normal. Could that be related to the temps? If you have space for one, add one. If not, add the side panel fan and that'll help the GPU temps.
Yup.You bought the GPU brand new right?
Could be the temps, you can monitor them using Coretemp for the CPU and GPU-Z for the GPU. Is the system running an SSD or hard drive?Ok cool. Btw I see that my games stutter (i.e. FPS drops) a tiny bit after a while. Like a quick drop and all is back to normal. Could that be related to the temps?
Yup.
i3-7100Could be the temps, you can monitor them using Coretemp for the CPU and GPU-Z for the GPU. Is the system running an SSD or hard drive?
Actually, can you just give the specs of the PC?
def need look ram by that time.i3-7100
8GB RAM
120GB SSD for Windows and core apps (Steam, etc)
1TB HDD for Games, etc (A WD Blue)
ASUS RX 580 4GB
1 case fan
550W PSU
I remember when I added the exhaust fan it helped my 750 ti's performance, so perhaps I should just get another fan?Depending on the game it could be RAM related. Some games will get above the 8GB limit and have to swap to the page file on the SSD (which is small and won't have much pagefile available).
Otherwise temps are a safe bet too.
You should definitely get another fan.I remember when I added the exhaust fan it helped my 750 ti's performance, so perhaps I should just get another fan?
