It's been a few months since I lost my GPU, still struggling to save up to build a new PC. Want to put together a 5700g PC and then game on that until I have saved up for a GPU.
With the Intel Arc launching soon, when do you guys think it will land here? Was SA prices released yet? Wonder if it will make a decent budget gaming GPU.
I dont see it dropping with the current exchange rateAny chance 1440p monitors will drop in price with the next-gen GPUs coming out? I have my eye on the Dell S3222DGM and S3422DWG, but a bit hesitant to take the plunge immediately
I'm no expert so take my 2 cents with a pinch of salt, I think 1440p prices already dropped overseas quite a while ago, we get a very delayed effect here, and then the only time we get a dramatic price reduction is when certain models go end of life. Try and compare the USD price to the ZAR price over here for the models you are interested in to see how good our current pricing is. USD pricing is deceptive though as their prices aren't advertised with sales tax applied, also we pay extra import duties. Then I think sometimes they get extra amazing deals when they get these various rebate offers which I suppose will never be applicable here!Any chance 1440p monitors will drop in price with the next-gen GPUs coming out? Yeah the S34 is on special at Takealot today I see. Thanks for the inputs, I think I will end up buying within the next couple of weeks. I also have a bad feeling about the exchange rates.
I did some further looking at the USD prices, and with the bad ZAR now there is actually not much difference on a direct conversion. The S34 actually went on what was advertised as a "big" special for 390 USD a while ago, so at around R7k equivalent I don't see hope for SA retailers going lower (price here is R9 to R10k).

awesome price paid 8k for used alienware, I guess is probably similar panel to my 3418DW
But eu has gas. Who cares right? hehe.13900k is quite hefty on the power draw!

Import duty and VAT would add ~40% to the US retail price (assuming the retail and distribution margins are the same).
It would be cheaper to get it from Dell SA with the added benefit of local support.
