Aaah, yes it's possible your jack in the pc isn't a multiport so it can only accept output. You'll need to split it

Hi all
Had a weird issue with my RX 6950 XT today no matter what game I launch it just crashes with a light grey pixels image on the screen about 2 minutes after any game launches
Under normal conditions like booting up , watching YouTube etc is fine all the settings work such as free sync etc
Had an overclock (the auto one in the Radeon software )on it for quite a while now and all has been good turned it off as well and still crashes
Any ideas on what is causing the crashes

Should add that I had to uninstall the device using device manager and let windows install the driver on its own and all seems fine
AMD is quite temperamental never had these issues with nvidia tbh

Are there guys here that buy and sell 2nd hand parts? I'm thinking of upgrading to an i7-12700 and would want to sell my i5-12400. I'm CPT based.
Carbonite's not really an option for me, my account got blocked/banned because I registered another account after the password reset option didn't work on my first account.

Once again just randomly crashes pc stays on
Not sure what to do anymore
Playing GTA V and just after a cutscene it crashes played for 2 hours and fine
No overclocks or any custom configs

Thanks I have the same card , very good performance at 4K , have some coil whine and this crashing but other than that quite happy with the performance

Do you think it could be something else crashing it ? Noticed my Xbox controller charges but loses the connection pc stays on with the lights
Disable MPO and see if that helps, I remember it fixing black screen crashing for quite a few people on Amd cards.

Run it and then reboot PC.
Note : yeah link is from Nvidia but it works on AMD cards because MPO is a windows feature.

EDIT: Agree with @blaaislaai using the windows driver is not a good idea.

Here is your first problem, windows installing the driver.
Only use the AMD Installer, the windows driver sucks, hence your crashes.
I suggest todo a clean wipe of display drivers, by downloading DDU and run it in safe mode to remove all drivers. Reboot, install AMD one.
Have had it happen before. What motherboard? If it has Dual Bios you should be okay. If not, does it have a BiosFlash utility that occurs prior to boot? I forget what they call it offhand.

Nope, but have had it happen with an unexpected power failure. So from then on I'd only do them on a UPS or inverter system with a UPS

It hasn't happened to me but I'll be building my PC this weekend using the Asrock X670E Steel Legend. It has the Bios Flashback feature which allows updating the Bios without a CPU. I also read conflicting info where some say it can fix a corrupted bios. Can someone confirm?
As far as loadshedding goes, I use the ESP app which has been working great, but sometimes the power randomly goes off for a split second and this has me worried.
