The perfect case

:D Archer i did exactly the same, I rejected it at first because of its price thinking that it couldn't possibly be good. However after reading many reviews and discussions it seems like it is a brilliant case, which is a first for AeroCool.

It defiantly does water cooling, but the maximum rad size is the real question. People say it won't fit a 360 rad without a little modding, but should fit a 280 rad.

I have nothing against Aerocool, my first nice case was one actually and I still miss it :D And a single 280 rad is not enough for me :p I'm looking at a single 360 or 420 rad. Still hoping some decent cases get shown at CES, nothing has caught my eye so far

You mean this case? :p

The one currently sitting in my living room with all six of my Seagate Barracuda 2TB drive in there.. .and yes those babies are as cool as ice. :D

I got it for less than a grand at Matrix. :p

Doesn't really appeal to me,I like cases that look basic on the outside but just have that look in them that tells you there is a monster on the inside.

Seems to look a little like the ThermalTake V4 Black - just way! nicer. Am I correct in saying that it only has 2 fans included and if you want more you have to buy seperately?

Also, the fan controllers - read it can control 6 fans with 2 buttons. How?

Yes, you have to buy more fans... but Matrix has a very nice supply of them ranging from R69 to R139. The holes in the case will easily accomodate varying sizes.

It comes with one large intake fan (orange coloured) in front of the hard drive bays and one large exhaust fan at the top of the case under the vents that can be opened.
I bought three more. One for the rear exhaust next to the processor, one on the perspex as intake and one for the bottom of the case as intake.

The fan controllers come with three power plugs and three sensor controllers for three fans on each controller. I have all the intake fans set up on the one and all the exhaust fans on the other.

Meh. Not a fan of windows. Just let out noise and light. For about the same price you can get an Antec Mini P180, which will be far quieter, look much better and last way longer. Or if you need lots of space the P183 is only a bit bigger. hehe, Antec is the only thing in the world I'm fanboyish about. :P

I used to have the Antec Solo (P150 with different colours), before I switched to a laptop. Beautiful piece of case. Quieter than my laptop as well.

I'll bet this thing is quieter than all of those! :p I can barely tell that it is in the room with me.

looks lame, get something elegant like a Lian-Li or Antec

I agree that Lian-Li's are elegant but those cases cost a damn lot

does anyone know of a sub R1000 case that looks awesome but doesn't have mesh on? i find dusting my case off a pain.

Gary, do you have any complaints about the case? And how much exactly did you get for it, excluding the extra fans.

Didn't realize so few fans were included, which fans do you guys think should I get:
2. Back - 1 x 12/14cm fan (optional)
3. Side - 4 x 12/14cm fans or / 1 x 18/20cm fan (optional)
5. Buttom - 1 x 12/14cm fan (optional)

Bare in mind that I will be needing to cool two 6950.

The only complaint I have about the case is that I can't seem to find the reset button. There is a big fat power button in the middle of the top... but for the life of me... I can't find the reset switch.

The fans that Matric has are also AeroCool and a few other brands. And they are quite reasonably priced. I will have to go back and find my invoice to see exactly how much I paid... but bear in mind I have an account with them so I get about 15% discount.

I think it was just a little bit under R1000, so I am sure you can expect to pay around R1150.00.

Yes, all the fans you have quoted look right. They should fit just fine. I went for the one big one in the side rather than four small ones.

haha you can stop looking for a reset button, because they forgot to include one XD

Btw, what I meant by "which fans should I get", is which of the optional fans should I buy. E.G Should I get the back fan, the side fans, the bottom fan or all of them.

Oh, I dunno... I got all three LOL (and they are super quiet)... what I should have gotten is a better CPU fan! :D

That's next on the list. If money is an issue, just get them later. You can always add them in later.

I love the look of the Silverstone Raven2 Evolution. Woot has it for 1700. IMO that's the best high-end value deal on the market. This Aerocool one is also great but I like the Silverstone more personally.
