Hi All,

I've gone through at least 2 - 3 toasters in the last year. 1 broke, 1 was too tiny and didn't propery toast the bread. Now I have a standard, entry-level Pinewave toaster in my kitchen. However, it toasts the bread mostly all around but there's always the middle part of the bread that's over-toasted, while the sides / top remain slightly untoasted to the point where if I set my setting too low... it's basically not toasted at all at the top.

This may seem like a first world problem and indeed it is.

However, does anybody know or have any sort of experiance about which toaster I can buy that will fit large slices of bread and toast them nicely around the sides. Bare in mind, most bread slices today are larger than they were say 10 years ago. I require the perfect slice of toast.

Thanks a lot!!! :) :) :crylaugh:

Buy a loaf of bread and cruise around to all the shops that have demo's on display toast some bread and buy the one that toasts to your liking.

Haha that is a great idea, my only concern is that many places, example onlie shops (my preferred way to shop) don't have any on display. Which places would have? Makro perhaps?

My budget for a good toaster would stop at around R500 - R600

I have a Mellerware toaster.

It does the job perfectly.

I bought i 4 slice mellerware online from takealot the other day.

to my disappointment it does not work so well with the bigger slices, it still leaves the top part partly untoasted.

i want to open up the damn thing, maybe i can cut a spring or 2..drop the thing so that the slice can go in deaper
