It should be discussed and agreed by both parties, just because a woman is carrying the baby does not give the woman the right to just abort it.
A baby takes 2 people to create and woman are just the carriers but make no mistake a man had every right to claim the child as his own.
The woman can carry the baby and give it up to the father should she not want it.

You can say all you like about abortion not being a woman's right but as the law stands right now a woman can have an abortion without the consent of the father of the fetus. The law basically says "it's a woman's body she has final say in the matter".

Exactly, ultimately it is her choice no matter what. Can't say i agree 100% but then again you do want some say in what happens to your own body even if half of the genetic material that makes up the babe inside her is yours....

Hmm im pretty sure that cookie accepted the unprotected winkie, so why should the winkie get the blame when the cookie obviously did not mind. It takes 2 to tango.
I would take her to court and if she went through with it without my consent i would make her life living hell.

The Termination of Pregnancy Bill was introduced in parliament in the second half of 1996, amid heated controversy. The Bill proposed that abortion be allowed under the following circumstances:
During the first 12 weeks of pregnancy at the request of the woman (`woman' is defined as a female person of any age);
From the 13th week up to and including the 20th week if a medical practitioner, after consulting with another medical practitioner or a registered midwife:
is of the opinion that the continued pregnancy would present a risk of injury to the woman's mental or physical health or there is a substantial risk that the foetus would suffer from a severe physical or mental abnormality;
is advised by a social worker that the pregnancy resulted from unlawful carnal intercourse (rape or incest) or an act of sexual abuse, or the continued pregnancy would severely affect the social or economic circumstances of the woman;
After the 20th week if a medical practitioner, after consulting with another medical practitioner or registered midwife, is of the opinion that the continued pregnancy would endanger the woman's life or would result in a severe malformation of the foetus.
The Bill also provides that:
Consent of the woman is required;unless she is incapable of giving consent;
Minors may make their own decisions about whether or not to have an abortion;
Counselling is provided by the state;
Medical personnel who have a conscientious objection to performing abortions do not have to do so but are compelled to refer the woman to someone who will perform the operation.
If you read that nowhere does it mention the consent of the father being required.

It isn't necessarily that women think that way...it's the law. As a male your consent is not required.
As the owner of your penis you should be the one responsible for putting a condom on if you are unsure of her contraceptive status. It isn't a negotiated deal if you are not ready to be a parent.

one of my duaghters is here thanks to "the pill" not working.....and I never regret one day having her in my life...at the end ..its all good...and I'm glad the pill failed. She is amazing!

Which is why some advocate Male abortion.
Legally you can't take her to court for anything, its her choice. You can't force her to carry something for 9 months that she doesn't want to.
