For many years, Porsche’s Tequipment program has been offering its customers a wide array of parts to lift the performance of their cars to new heights.
Last year we saw the Porsche 911 GT2 RS with Manthey Performance Kit smash the lap record for road-legal cars at the Nurburgring and now these parts and packages are available locally for those wanting to go even quicker.
All the information and pricing can be found here but for those interested, the Manthey Performance Kit for your GT3 RS (991.2) will set you back R1,554,528 while the GT2 RS offering will be R2,380,881.

Porsche Wants You To Take Your Car Camping With New Roof Tent
When you think about camping, you not exactly going to think of Porsche but the German manufacturer wants to change that with their new roof tent.
It has been designed and developed by Porsche Tequipment and sits on top of your car as a large hardcase when not deployed. It can be installed on the roof transport systems of models such as the 911, Macan, Cayenne, Panamera, and Taycan, regardless if they come with roof rails or not.
When deployed, you get nice views into the outdoors thanks to two side windows and a roof window.
Should you fancy one of these, they will be going on sale in two colour schemes (black-light grey and black-dark grey) and will retail for €4,980 (approx. R90k).

Porsche CEO says 918 succesor will only be considered after 2025
Despite being in the same stable as nameplates like 911, 718, Carrera GT, etc the Porsche 918 is one of the most sought-after products from the Stuttgart-based firm that may see its successor unveiled later in this decade.
“Before 2025, we won’t have a hypercar. Later on, it might be possible.”
This year has seen a multitude of hypercars introduced into the automotive market. From minuscule blossoming automakers to established automotive giants. According to Porsche CEO, Oliver Blume told CAR magazine Uk in an exclusive interview that a new hypercar (which may be the 918’s successor) may only be a reality closer to the end of this decade as the firm is dedicated to electro-mobility.
As is the case with predictions spanning several years, it’s all hearsay. Alongside the Porsche 918, the Carrera GT and 959 stand alongside it as the firm’s few hypercar-level offerings, which will likely serve as some sort of basis for a newer take on the hypercar formula.

Porsche considering full Google integration for its cars
Porsche is considering fully integrating Google software into its car cockpits, a source close to the company said on Thursday, marking a shift in strategy for the newly listed carmaker.
The deal, which is only being considered for the Porsche brand and not the Volkswagen Group more widely, would enable Porsche customers access to Google applications like Google Maps and Google Assistant without needing to connect the car to an Android phone.
Porsche Chief Financial Officer Lutz Meschke said on a conference call last October that the company was in close contact with Google and Apple as well as Baidu, Tencent and Alibaba in China following the end of its cooperation with Volkswagen's Cariad unit on software research and development.
Porsche had previously been reluctant to use Google software because Google asked for too much data to be shared, according to Manager Magazin, which first reported the talks.
