The race card thread

Where is his ancestral grounds, his ancestral ground is South Africa, must he now go to some rural village, to do his ritual, because " ja, it might upset the white baas "

Point taken.... but he isnt showing tollerance for other peoples beliefs then. His Cultural heritage doesnt override someone elses rights.

xt: if he is a member of a tribe, then he has ancestral grounds, and culturally and traditionally, South Africa is NOT his ancestral ground. South Africa, as it is defined now, is a European concept.... This has NOTHING to do with appeasing the 'white baas' it has to do with contravening the law in this country, and it being done by a high profile political figure who was already convicted of a crime, but still treated like a hero.

and the same point could then be made in his favour.

You are 100% correct there... but analyse it more closely.

Slaugtering an animal has got health risks if not done properly. If a disease (like XDRTB for example) started from that carcas just being washed down the storm drain and then seeped in to the ground water, then who's rights were violated? My right to healthy safe living, or his rights to kill a cow on his property. :-P

So in your opinion, you either enjoy modern luxuries or practice traditional culture, there is no middle ground, so then no Afrikaner in this country should complain that their culture is being sidelined by Government, if they have a job, use a cellphone, drive a car etc.

OMG the racist's fangs are out again.

Afrikaners do have a culture of hard work. Can't argue with that. Thanks for pointing it out :p

Better get this in before the thread gets closed.

First of all. I have not once belittled anyones religion. Look at the title of this thread then please follow my logic.

The facts.
1. Tony Yengeni is a thief, convicted and sent to prison. He stole OUR money. Not my money or your money but OUR money.
2. He got out of jail relatively lightly due to forces we do not know about.
3. He holds a party at which he slaughters an animal in a cruel and painfull way.
4. He then feeds the proceeds to his "friends and family".
5. There is no SOUTH AFRICAN CLEANSING RITUAL which involves the slaughter of an animal. Read my post with references. So which culture/religion is Tony Yengeni part of, certainly not South African. South African cleansing rituals involve being bathed in milk.
6. When confronted about the way he slaughtered the animal he "PLAYS THE RACE CARD".

Tony Yengeni is a thief who has through friends unknown got out of jail for practically free. But maybe they stole so much money that he just simply paid them. To celebrate this victory over our goverment he holds a feast, thumbing his nose at all and sundry, he even invites the press to gloat in his feigned power. At this feast he kills a bull in what everyone agrees is not a nice way. And be honest stabbing any animal with a spear through the heart is not going to be an easy death. When the press HE invited take offence to this he pulls out the RACE OF SPADES from his pocket, his pet traditional healer to proclaim all and sundry who object racists, or culturists for that matter. This instantly gathers to him the support from every black person in this country.

Tony Yengeni is crapping in a plate and feeding it to you for lunch and telling you it is ice cream and you are eating it up.

You should be angered that someone of Tony Yengeni's calibre dares to associate with you. Unless of course thieves, scoundrels and killers of innocent animals is your forte. You should be offended that someone like Tony Yengeni has made animal torture part of your culture, just like some idiot made muti murders part of your culture. You should drag Tony Yengeni out in the street and flog him for his arrogance because he belittles your culture, your religion and your intelligence in one go.

And why can he do this, because he PLAYED THE RACE CARD.

The whole point of this thread has gone amiss I think. The point was that when the SPCA wanted to investigate the torture to death of an animal they were told they are racists because they were picking on their culture. And so it has propagated into the forum with many of our members playing the exact same card. So tell me this: when a persons culture contravenes the law, which triumphs?

That was very well put, dude.

Xhosa cleansing rituals aka (ukungxengxeza) do involve slaughtering of a cow, goat or sheep. The choice of the animal depends which ‘clan’ you are coming from. For instance, the “Bhele’s”, Jwarha’s, Mpinga’s differ in the ways they perform cleansing and the animal used. The animal is slaughtered and the ancestors (izinyanya) are evoked and appeased. Participants (allegedly Yengeni) confess sins “amatyala”. This then leads to a ritual cleansing and purification ceremony which is usually performed by the family elder.

Thank you very much, the information is greatly appreciated. You are well informed regarding the process of the ritual? In your opinion relating to how it was performed by Tony Yengeni. Do you believe it was done correctly and in accordance with the above mentioned ritual and according to Xhosa beliefs? As much detail as possible would be appreciated. Please be specific about how the animal must be killed as it has a lot of relevance here and if the carcass may be consumed afterwards.

Thanks man.

I am asking this because the ukungxengxeza I found refers to the healing ritual between two wronged parties within a family which directly translated means "ask for forgiveness". If this ritual can be performed for a single person as a cleansing ritual is not mentioned.

Thanks

What sins did he confess too I wonder, and could that be used in a court of law?

:/ hmmm, meat eaters talking about causing animals pain? hunters saying slaughtering an animal is wrong? there are way too many hypocrites in this thread :shakehead:

Not if a recording was made I think. And since he invited the media, he can't say that it was done without his blessing. I think.

Anybody got any good contacts in the media with access to tapes? ;)
