Renault Duster facelift launch on July 8, 2019 - Team-BHP

Renault is set to launch the Duster facelift on July 8, 2019.

Earlier this week, Renault had released the first teaser image of the updated Duster. The SUV is expected to get a new chrome grille and revised headlamps with projectors.

Spy images suggest that the Duster could get dual-tone bumpers with redesigned fog lamp pods. At the rear, the car gets black plastic cladding on the tail gate. It is also expected to come with ORVM's with integrated turn signals, roof rails and dual-tone alloy wheels.

Inside, the new Duster is expected to get updated interiors with a new steering wheel and an updated infotainment system.

The Duster facelift is likely to be offered with the same set of engines as the outgoing model. These could include a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with 105 BHP and 142 Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit producing 108 BHP and 245 Nm of torque.

Transmission options might include a 6-speed manual and an AMT for the diesel, while the petrol engine could get a 5-speed manual and a CVT option.

Renault SA rejigs Duster range, adds new ‘TechRoad’ models

Renault South Africa has rejigged its five-strong Duster range, replacing the two Dynamique 4x2 variants with a pair of new TechRoad derivatives.

So, what sets the TechRoad models apart? Well, commanding a R5 000 premium over the Dynamique variants they replace, the TechRoad derivatives gain a rear-view camera, 17-inch alloys (with red centre caps), exterior badging (though we can see none on the provided press images) and red trim on the side-mirror caps.

A new “Red Fusion” colour is also offered on this model. Inside, Duster TechRoad models feature new upholstery (complete with red detailing on the seats), red accents on the air-vents (repeated around the gear-lever gaiter) and red elements on the interior door trim.

Pricing:

Renault Duster 1,6 Expression 4x2: R255 900
Renault Duster 1,5 dCi TechRoad 4x2: R293 900
Renault Duster 1,5 dCi TechRoad EDC 4x2: R327 900
Renault Duster 1,5 dCi Dynamique 4x4: R327 900
Renault Duster 1,5 dCi Prestige EDC 4x2: R340 900

Renault SA introduces new Duster TechRoad model

Renault wants to paint the town (and bush) red with a new Duster edition called the TechRoad.

Replacing the Dynamique 4x2 model, the TechRoad is set apart by new (mainly red) styling details outside and in, while it also introduces a new Fusion Red colour option, which Renault expects will be particularly popular with buyers.

But regardless of what exterior hue you choose, the TechRoad comes with new diamond-cut 17-inch alloy wheels with red centre caps as well as red strips on the black mirrors and TechRoad badging.

Inside the model gets new seat upholstery with - you guessed it - red highlights and red detailing on the dashboard, console and inner door panels.

The TechRoad starts at R293 900, which is a R5000 premium over the previous Dynamique model.

I'm having trouble keeping up with the changes to the Duster. Is this a face-lift of the model that was introduced last year?

See your post from July 3rd. There it mentions a face-lift.

That's not my post. Also that is India. IIRC they were slow with getting the Gen 2 in the first place. So they would be on a different approach.

SA got Gen 2 soon after Euro countries.

This latest "update" is just a model/spec adjustment.

Sorry man, didn't see the name. I'm so used to you providing the motor news.

Thanks for the clarification.

Great to see they upped the airbag count to 4 with this update/spec alignment/whatever. A one year old or demo of a diesel auto variant should be epic value.

Word of warning though, apparently Renault charges a customer for wear and tear for an EDC warranty claim if it is clutch pack related. This is total BS if you ask me.

Might be wrong , but the " Expression " spec always had 2 airbags and the " Dynamique " spec 4 airbags. So whatever the new specs is fits into this maybe.

New engine raises Dacia Duster prices by £1000

New three-cylinder petrol unit brings improved fuel economy and torque but pushes entry price to £10,995

Dacia has raised the pricing of its Duster SUV following the addition of a new entry-level petrol engine.

The new engine is available on Dusters equipped with Access, Essential and Comfort trim, with prices ranging from £10,995 to £13,995. This marks a £1000 increase over the Duster’s previous £9995 entry price.

The turbocharged three-cylinder TCe 100 unit replaces the 1.6-litre SCe 115 engine with less power, at 99bhp, but improved emissions. CO2 output is down 18% at 126g/km and fuel efficiency has been improved from 40.9-43.5mpg to 48.7-49.5mpg.

Torque output is improved as well, with the TCe 100 producing 192lb ft, 66% more than the SCe unit’s 115lb ft. Acceleration and top speed are slightly reduced, though, with the TCe capable of 0-62mph in 12.5sec and a top speed of 104mph.

It all about Euro emissions standards.
Saw this development a while ago.
It should have been the 1.2 Turbo that does duty in the Nissan derivatives.
Not sure about the Sandero/Clio/Captur/Micra engine in something like the Duster...

Dacia Duster is Europe's best-selling SUV

Duster finished August in second place in the overall sales chart as WLTP-related disruption continues to affect the market

Europe's new car market dipped by 8.7% in August compared with the same month last year, despite successes for brands such as Dacia.

The figure reflects the havoc wreaked on the industry by the WLTP emissions standards rolled out in September 2018 more than it suggests motorists are no longer interested in buying new cars, analysts reckon.

Vatican receives modified Dacia Duster as new Popemobile

Budget SUV receives papal treatment with lowered suspension, plush rear seat and roof-mounted glass box

Renault has gifted a specially modified Dacia Duster to the head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis.

The budget SUV has been adapted to suit papal needs by Dacia’s Prototype department and Special Needs Team, in partnership with Romanian coachbuilder Romturingia.

The new Popemobile offers the same five-seat layout as the standard Duster but has a "particularly comfortable" rear bench added to suit lengthy public parades.

Also featured are a large sunroof, roof-mounted grab handles and, as is customary with Popemobiles from all marques, a removable transparent display box to allow crowds a better look at His Holiness.

The Duster is finished in white with a leather interior, and its suspension has been lowered by 30mm to allow for easier ingress and egress.
