The Renault Kwid Thread (Kwid Lovers)

Yes indeed that's why it scored 1 star on NCAP safety test.

That is ridiculous, we are in 2016, even a Polo Vivo and VW UP! have ABS.

This thing is well and truly a deathtrap.
by abs you mean "Any bloody safety", right? :D
LOL! :D
Seems well fitting at this point!

No, you are right. Does not have ABS. The sales agent that was with me in the car when I test drove it confirmed it.

As if we need anymore deathtraps on our roads. That is shocking!
One would rather spend a bit extra and get a Sandero or VW UP!.

The Tata Bolt has ABS, EBD and CSC for goodness sakes. I have to say, I was stunned when he told me the Kwid does not have ABS.

That is just sad, when even a Tata is safer.

That Bolt is really starting to look like a very good deal.

Guy from Tata is going to take the car to the house during my lunch hour so I can test drive it. He is still waiting for all the outcomes from the banks regarding my finance application. Really excited to see and drive this little beast :)

Yes it's rather "common knowledge" the Kwid had no ABS. Just go back in this thread lol! It's been mentioned many number of times.

Besides lack of ABS the poor safety rating is attributed to the poor structural integrity of the body shell. Check an early posting I put of a crash test. The body crumbles very badly.

Very nice!
I'm sure the finance stuff will be a breezy. Lets just hope the Tata lives up to being a worthy replacement your Mini on the test drive. :D

At the speed you will travel in Kwid, ABS would not make a difference and an airbag would anyway not deploy.

Haha!

But this is SA, and somewhere in Fourways, Krugersdorp, Edenvale and Boksburg there is a Mike or a Geoff or a Sibusiso, who will get a Kwid, takeout the air filter, put 19s on it and take it to +120km/h in a 60 zone, redlining before each shift. I just hope I won't be in their way or even in that particular car when they do that.
50kw is decent enough if your car only weights 700kg.
Lol, 50KW, 700kg, Marie biscuit tires, high ground clearance and no ABS, Who needs Russian Roulette!?

One parked next to me today... Freaking hell it's a small car !! almost 1/2 the size of my Clio.

Very nice!

When it hits the back of your car you are going to feel a slight bump, you might even notice it :) ... but yeah, you will get somebody pimp the crap out of it.

The concept cars look very good. :)
