So was Jake, so that player revolt did wonders for the club didn’t it?

3 Super Rugby finals and an a Currie Cup title for Ackerman! Compared to Jake ?
 
The Sharks did poorly, seriously what is the point of having 13 springboks if your teams plays badly when you can play them and badly when you don't.
oh well at least the Stormers did worse.

Those 13 Springboks lost at home to the Lions. Just saying...

Yeah agreed Jake was a great coach (maybe the best) in the early 2000's but not sure he is at that level in the modern game... The fact that he went from winning the world cup to coaching a Varsity team still boggels my mind however there was probably a kick back from Jooste.
 
Terrible weekend for the SA teams with only the Lions winning. Cheetahs had to forfeit their game against Munster, counting as a loss. Glad I could not watch this crap while paying for dstv.

White has always been poor wrt player management, since even the WC win, where his poor player management almost lost us that final, that win was despite him, not because of him. Throughout his career, he just has never learnt proper player management, running his stars into the ground, poor junior development, signing players, only for them to warm the bench, if they lucky to even get picked in the first place.

Been the trend every team he has coached since left the Boks 2007, no matter where he goes. He has left many a team in tatters after the team enjoyed shortterm recovery and success in the first couple seasons he is there, trend internationally and locally as far he is concerned.
 
I know we need to manage our players but this thing of sending under-strength teams is not working. We must decide if we actually want to compete in the Champions Cup. It doesn't help that the URC is happening at the same time but these are the cards we have been dealt. As for the Bulls, I don't know what is happening there.

Honestly, I feel like us being even part of these comps are a waste of time and money. Snow in Amsterdam and then sorry Cheetahs you were supposed to host and since you can't you forfeit and give a bonus point victory to Ulster.

Feels like Irish Rugby pressure. very unfair.

Yeah not idea if there are indoor rugby stadiums but there needs to be a plan B.

Would have been better if they just played in Belfast. Probably the same result log point-wise but at least the players would have gotten the opportunity.
 
Jake White is not as great as people make him out to be. He was on the verge of getting fired as Springbok coach before the WC and just stayed because time ran out.
That world cup win was just luck. Go look who we played to get to final and win.
After that he never did anything great, rather poor everywhere he went with that huge reputation.
Just like Eddie Jones. Got his lucky WC win with Jake and big status, and after that nothing.

They are an invitational team so I guess EPCR decided on the requirement and the Cheetahs probably accepted it because it means game time against good European clubs. Game time they won't get if they say no.

Does feel a bit unfair. Forced to play in EU and then forced to forfeit due to bad weather in EU.

Must have got lucky in 2002 winning a U21 Rugby World cup, lucky again in 2004 winning a Tri-nations and IRB Coach of the Year award, more good luck in 2007 winning the rugby world cup and a 2nd IRB Coach of the Year award...

From 2020-2025, 2 Currie Cup titles and 2 coach of the year awards at the Bulls plus 2 URC finals...

It happens that coaches get stuck in whatever worked 5 years ago and don't update their coaching.

Jake white was the same. Good springbok run and then shít for a long period.

Then good again the last few years at the bulls.

Still won a lot more than most coaches in SA.

Regardless how people feel about him, he still is a good tactician and brings you wins and trophies, winning trophies for 5 years is better than not winning anything.

Maybe he is too hard and blunt on the players and even the owners, or maybe they all just a bunch of pussies when it starts getting tough and the blame game on Jake ?

Edit: so basically the players had enough of him at the bulls, they lead a revolt and get rid of him because he tells them they played **** against the Irish national team ( Leinster ) they go home and cry about being told they are **** and get rid of the couch? Shampies, truth is truth. No sugar coating what he said. I’d rather have Jake than that Ackerman, not like he has won loads of trophies while he was at the Lions and even overseas.

Something broke the bulls. If it was a player revolt then now is a good time to clean house and get rid of some entitlement. It cannot get any worse.
