Chances aren't that great but we have something on our side. Our depth. (Except for flyhalf which is a worry).

Some of the other teams are weakened considerably when players get injured.

I still feel positive for the world cup. Going to be bloody difficult though!
Yeah that depth and the bomb squad put SA in a better position than most... momentum swung when the subs came on for the Boks

The slow start could be a mental / tactics thing - definitely not physical

It's almost the WC and they still say things like this???

Yes that is what he said. It's a go to line after losing.

Then they have a post-match interview with Richie Mo'unga and he says look we need to be good now and the world cup will take care of itself later.

Let's ben honest everyoine keeps talking about the World cup it's like we don't care about any other milestones. All our eggs are in the World Cup basket.
We've always done that, it has greatly improved in recent years.
It used to be an excuse for being shít. This game was seriously not that bad.

We did fail the basics like catching a ball tackling so that is what made us look really poor. If we lost by a penalty or conversion I would have said yes we are on the correct path to enter a world cup but we were completely dominated so it's hard to see that we can win a world cup from this.

Its hardly a zero-sum game though is it? As @Grubscrew said Boks can and will improve - ABs could well plateau

This thread reminds me why my interest in rugby is dwindling. Its always the ref or politics from some supporters.
F me, our rugby the last 5 years is probably the best in decades. Yes and also the most diverse selections.
We actually expect to win every game, even against the AB’s

Also I don't think they will improve anymore, they are on top of their game and the game. We can however improve and I believe we can still overtake them and take the World Cup. I am going into this day not feeling too kak.
If we make it to the Final we just need England to beat them for us first lol

Lol. Maybe you just don't understand how rugby works.

I wasn't able to watch the game so no sure how the 10s went. I would however think that any potential WC success is highly dependent on Pollard's fitness

I think this was the peak for the all blacks. They can maintain it and it would be hard for anyone to beat them. I think most of the top teams are pretty equal.

We don't even play the 10 as a 10 anymore. Don't know if that was trying to be creative or compensating.
