How much time do the boks have though?
No amount of time can fix schoolboy errors.
Sometimes if the momentum goes against you and you are under pressure it just happens, things that are very 50-50 just tend to go wrong, and you have bad luck.

The world cup itself is enough time to get the team to gel properly and build positive momentum.

We did fail the basics like catching a ball tackling so that is what made us look really poor. If we lost by a penalty or conversion I would have said yes we are on the correct path to enter a world cup but we were completely dominated so it's hard to see that we can win a world cup from this.

Were we completely dominated?

Chances aren't that great but we have something on our side. Our depth. (Except for flyhalf which is a worry).

Some of the other teams are weakened considerably when players get injured.

I still feel positive for the world cup. Going to be bloody difficult though!

Bokke can win if they avoid Abs in the knockouts and get some luck on their side.

Ai tog. Was really hoping we would win. First Rugby match I watched in a while. We got up just to watch it. Oh well.

They did say last time All Blacks lost a game there was in 1994 so guess the odds were against us.

The Bokke had zero % possession in the first 18 minutes of the game. And during that time we gave away 17 points since our tackling was really poor.

The ref did make some weird calls against us, but that is not the reason why we lost the game, although it did cost us some momentum at crucial times in the game.

When we had possession, we looked good.

Our scrums were good as always and our line outs much better.

I also do not understand why we do not play a specialist flyhalf that can kick for position and for poles.

It was interesting to see the AB play our exact gameplan that was always called boring...and doing it better than we could.

The pundits also called it correctly: the fact that our "A-side"" did not play last week, cost us. The boys were rusty and slow and it took them a while...well as it turns out...too long, to get their rhythm.

The AB's were also extremely accurate at the breakdowns and with the pick and drive. Their forwards may not be as big, but they are very skilled and well coached too.

They are for sure the team to beat at the RWC. We should send our "B-team" to Argentina and go the RWC as the underdogs...

Lukanyo Am said we are building a team. I've been hearing that since I was a small boy. It seems like the go to excuse to when you lose is to say we are building.
Do you think they should have finished team after them only having one game last week. Before that they played in November 2022. Players form come and go, they need to gel again. Since they are testing out different gameplans now everything is not going to work perfectly. Everything is a buildup/practice for the worldcup. YOU were one of the naysayers criticizing our "one dimensional" gameplay so make up your mind. For example us playing Willie at first receiver takes away from his play making ability and hopefully we won't go back to it. Atleast we know now how it works in an actual game. Despite that he actually played fairly well for us overall.

There's still another game against the All Blacks at Twickenham before the RWC starts. Sometimes you have an off day and we all knew a bad start would be detrimental to our chances. Turned out we had a bad start.

On the plus, Jason Ryan conceded his first maul try as forwards coach of either the Crusaders or All Blacks.

Al Blacks were always gonna be the litmus test for the boks.

All things considered, not bad, i expected there to be issues with cohesion on defence and fluidity on attack. the poor reffing also exacerbated that.

at least the coaching team have a clearer idea of where to focus their energy in prep for the WC.

The scoreline flattered the ABs for sure, but i didnt see anything spectacular from them TBH
