He's clearly never heard of Allistair Coetzee....Worst? Are you drunk?
Peter de Villiers has entered the chat. Rudolf Straeuli is now admin...He's clearly never heard of Allistair Coetzee....
Did Pieter de Villiers, Strauli or Allister Coetzee have record losses against Argentina or Japan?Peter de Villiers has entered the chat. Rudolf Straeuli is now admin...
If Arg and Japan are your only barometer, then you have a good point.Did Pieter de Villiers, Strauli or Allister Coetzee have record losses against Argentina or Japan?
Did any other Bok coach pick world cup squads with old over the hill players or semi injured players just because he likes or are friends with them? He was the worst thing ever to happen to SA rugby.

Which players are you referring to? The 2015 squad was a great squad.. came within a drop goal of beating the greatest rugby side of all time, for a place in the final... bear in mind quotas were a thing back in 2015...Did any other Bok coach pick world cup squads with old over the hill players or semi injured players just because he likes or are friends with them? The only pro era coaches with a better win ratio are Mallett, Nienaber and RassieHe's clearly never heard of Allistair Coetzee....

Agreed, I threw the quota bit in as a bit of a disclaimer more than anything else. Rudy Paige was possibly the only player that could have considered himself selected more on policy than merit. Other than that, these were the best available players, despite what the "resident expert" believes...That is a bloody good side and some good talent on the bench too. Sure there might have been some quota picks in the squad but none of these players are passengers.
Would be interested to know who the expert would have picked in the place of some of those "has beens"..Agreed, I threw the quota bit in as a bit of a disclaimer more than anything else. and Peter DV ?He was shite bro. Absolutely bad.
He won a Lions series and a tri-nations. I feel he gets a lot more flack than is justified. 62% win ratio is not the worst either but given the quality of the players under his reign, he should probably have been closer to 70%...and Peter DV ?
A good coach like Rassie would leave a Pollard at home if he is not 100%Would be interested to know who the expert would have picked in the place of some of those "has beens"..

An unstable emotional wreck will take a barely walking Jean de Villiers, and 38 year old over the hill Matfield. Not to mention Morne Steyn and Fourie du Preez that was way out of form
Looking back at names now does not paint the real picture.
I don't have to say anything. Looking at his career after he was let go, says it all.
Actually looking at Wiki, Meyers inability to 'transform' the squad had much to do with his eventual departure. IE wasn't meeting quota targets. Cause, you know, the national team is the platform where you should be pushing an agenda. That is a bloody good side and some good talent on the bench too. Sure there might have been some quota picks in the squad but none of these players are passengers.
Well there you have it. Blue Bulls supporter that see nothing wrong with anything blue.Well, there you have it. You would have left behind the 2nd most capped player in SA history (still earned another 4 caps post world cup), a Lions series winning flyhalf (twice by the end of his career), the greatest 9 the country has ever produced (sorry Joost). Agree, Jean was a walking ACL... calculated risk...
Director of rugby at the Saber Cats is a decent gig btw. They've had much success under his directorship.
38 isn't over the hill btw Just ask Deon Fourie, Schalk Brits and Duane Vermeulen.
PS no rugby player is ever 100% fit...
