Its easy. You claim people don't love your favourite(Pollard). Same can be said for you not loving other peoples favourites. Pollard did not have this amazing kicking stats when he started. You mature in a Bok jersey and settle down. Manie only played 20 test and he kicking seems to be improving, but you don't seem to give him a chance?
What about Sasha's kicking the weekend? yes most went over but half hit the poles and was all over the place. Nobody complaining?
At the end if the day players are not the same. Manie will never kick like Pollard and Pollard will never get a backline going like Manie.
So a team must decide what game plan the want to play and choose the players for it. There will always be compromises. Maybe with a guy like Manie we will not sit in situations often that we need a last minute penalty to win by 1.
OH and Manie also had the highest % of kicks retention by his own team from all tier 1 nations in 2024.
Manie is really, really good from open play with probably the best pass of any fly-half in world rugby. He kicks well out of hand too. Nobody doubts that.

Unfortunately he has a track record of folding under pressure - both in goal kicking and game management.

Edit: There's a reason neither the Bulls or Sharks kept him. He's done remarkably well at the Stormers, and Rassie has developed him really well, but I'd still be nervous counting on him in a must win game.

Pollard certainly had the kicking stats. He won junior WC as flyhalf, his kicking has always been good actually.

Your points of argument highlights either an inability to comprehend what others are saying or an outright refusal to...

... oh... wait... you the bloke from the F1 thread.... nvm....

Well lets not bring the Bulls into any logic. Lets not forget that bafoon Bulls Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer did not pick Kolbe because he is too small. LOL and the Japan beat us with all their small players.

Manie also heading off to 2nd tier Japan league now, not even the Stormers fighting to keep him nor are any of the big overseas teams in Europe trying to swoop in, curious. That's not the sort of move a youngster makes at the height of their career, have to wonder about his decision making here, Quaid Cooper is a very odd reason to make such a career choice. Hope it pays off for the chap, but am concerned it won't.

Glad Sacha is in the starting 15.

He is by far our best flyhalf. He should be our number 10 going forward, when he's not injured of course....

Manie is the only fly half I can think of kicking to touch feom penalties with either foot. Quite remarkable skill. Having said that, I find his distance on his right, strongest foot quite disappointing in general. I wonder if he just being conservative since has put in some belters on occasion.

In all fairness his defence is also weak, jaa sure a flyhalf isn't your strongest defender, but in modern rugby that's not really a thing any longer, he should work on his defence as well IMO.

Taking the heat of the flyhalves..... whats' up with the no 9s currently ?. I was a huge Reinach fan, but he seems to be getting slower and slower. Knocks at the base, running and passing, etc. Seems to be more interested in looking for *** with the opposition locks :) At least Williams is on the bench this week... hopefully as scrumhalf and not wing :)

Same with hookers. Marx is not what he used to be and Bongi also getting old, but it seems there in no up and coming great your hookers.
Only good looking Hooker is Ethan, but don't think he will be picked at front row.

Yes, as for the No. 9's, I think Grant is number 1. But Cobus is getting on now so Krappies, (Morne vd Berg), should be the reserve if he is going to be a backup to Grant.

The stormers also fold under pressure.

Manie is in the squad he ain’t going anywhere, I think he might end up coming back here to SA for one of URC teams building depth for the longer seasons.

He was in insane form before his injury. I don't see why he won't get back up to speed quickly.
And without White's and his ineptitute wrt player management, we should hopefully start to see less issues at the Bulls.

Do hope somebody has gotten some common sense across to the Sharks during the off season wrt better player management, but not holding my breath. (It doesn't count as listening to national coach instruction to rest players during rest window when they are off injured and couldn't be selected regardless.)
