Let's hope the Blitsbokke pull a win this weekend.

We need to win it to win the series and I hope they are even more amped than before after commonwealth.

Kick off is 18:20 tonight on the opening game against the USA in Las Vegas.

Nice one blitzbokke let's throw the game away against the USA....

Useless the whole lot of them.

There is no chance we will win the series but awww well it is what it is.

Been a bleak weekend for SA sport.

Even the U18 made a meal of their 44-41 win against England. They were extremely fortunate to win that one. England were scoring tries at will. Defense out wide non existent.

Pretty much.

Boks lost. Proteas lost. Blitzboks lost opening game. It's been a horror weekend.

The thing I hate about the Aussies is they cheat so much and concede so many penalties that the ref is then hesitant to penalize them for all their transgressions or the game will be so one-sided as they will get carded and penalized so much the home crowd will boo. The Aussies also after a transgression that isn't penalized go and celebrate their player as if they did a good thing. This influences the ref to not penalize them that much out of fear of the whole team reacting to the decision. Their cricket team use to do the same which irritated the crap out of me.

The worse for me was all the dangerous head tackles the Aussies did. World rugby should get strict on that.

Worse refereeing you will ever see to me was the 2011 quarterfinal between Australia and South Africa.

I thought the Koroibete was a no arms shoulder charge on Maphimpi but I see the rugby world is crowning him best winger in the world.

Weird.

Blitzboks lost against Wales which basically see them failing to secure 9th place

Worst performance yet from them and allowed Australia to snatch the series from us. Sigh.

How do you go from absolutely dominating commonwealth games but fail to beat the USA and Wales?

Guys, im not so sure anymore about world rugby.

Since the bok game on Saturday I've been thinking we watching essentially a WWE product. Generally speaking I have as much time for conspiracy theories as marketing calls. But I'm starting to wonder if Rugby is tainted as well like cricket.

I don't think the refs are corrupted as much but wonder how much the IRB influences ref 'plans' for the game day. Altrad & Ineos are the title sponsor for the Kiwi's and I dont think they could afford the Kiwi's to lose anymore. Its common acceptable knowledge that the IRB is trying aggressively to expand Rugby and breach new markets for the commercial sense. Its hard if the common juggernauts of world rugby keep winning all the time and its 'boring'. Its hard to sponsor losers. Its hard to sell broadcasting rights when all the other teams are just making the numbers, broadcasting rights to the world cup are cheap.

Its like the IRB wants a balance where the top 8 rugby playing countries can all beat each other on any day and its happening. Italy beating Wales, Kiwi's losing to the Irish etc, etc. And I reckon the refs arent as incompetent as we think. Its as if before the match starts they know who they going to give favourable calls to and who to blind eye.

The smoke from this fire isint from now or the field. The awarding of the 2023 RWC to France? The IRB's own committee recommended SA for the tournament. After the recommendation committee's report was public Chabal & Co lobbied furiously behind the scenes and France was awarded when it came to decision day.

That debacle actually proved indirectly that the leadership of the IRB will essentially 'do as they please'. Commercial viability and expansion here are the aim, then after that fair play.

Could be shooting the dark here and salty because of a poor sporting weekend, dunno. But what will probably happen this weekend is the Kiwi's beating the Argentinians by 10 points and the Boks beating the Wallabies by 5 or 7 points.

I've seen a ton of Aussie supporters call Springbok supporters whiners online. Losing because the team is making stupid mistakes is 1 thing.
Letting foul play go unpunished is something else entirely. These guys should be cited after the game, but nothing has happened.

...add in his 2 tackles leading with the head to the respective Bok player's head (Vermeulen was 1 of them)...foul play is great play it seems.

We must have the world's dumbest rugby players - we keep on doing the same thing, hoping for a different result. Other teams have worked out our so called strengths - scrums and mauls, and we have been neutralized. Wales, NZ and now the Wallabies have figured out how to counter us.
Why do we not learn from this? Time to evolve or die.

The problem is the moment you complain it's fobbed off that you just upset you lost.

I have no issue with the result, the Boks were rubbish and did nothing to earn the win. But blatant foul play can't go unnoticed
