Who the hell are they gonna foist in there I wonder .... sad to see Kolisi out

I suspect if PSdT is fit, he will slot in here. Fortunately, we have an abundance of talented loosies to choose from so I'm sure he will be ably covered if he can't make it.

I just hope Siya can fulfill his upcoming European contract, dude feeds plenty of mouths.

Big game tonight at Wildeklawer.

One of the teams will lose their unbeaten status for 2023.

Grey College vs Garsfontein. @ 18h30

Garsfontein have their work cut out against arguably the best rugby school in the world for the past decade.

Grey always delivers in high pressure games and is one of the best coached and skilled teams of all time. There is a reason they have been the Number 1 ranked team almost each year for as long as I can remember.
Garsfontein will draw inspiration from their against-all-odds win versus Paul Roos at the 2022 tournament. As well as slowly climbing the rankings and cementing their place in the Top 10 in the past 4 seasons.

My money is on Am. Etzebeth too much of a hot head. I like a captain to can stay on the field right till the end, front rows like Kitshoff gets replaced in the second half.
Agree 100%. Etzebeth is too hot headed. Him not having that many yellows doesn’t mean much as we all know he is always in the middle of the hand bag throwing. Can’t have a captain like that. Leave him to focus on his aggressive game and make Am captain. He will play a full game every (important) match, seems to be a bit of a rugby genius, and always looks as cool as a cucumber.

I suspect Pollard will slot right back into the team though and start most matches, especially after what seems to be some solid performances for Leicester. Won’t have a problem with him being captain either.

Ps. If anyone has or knows of available tickets for any of the SA world cup games, please give me a shout.

The rugby, in general, was next level! Just about every fixture was box office! Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Indeed. Watched almost every game as well.

Was rooting for Garsfontein but damn their scrummy was so bloody slow.

How is that boot on the Grey College flyhalf?

And this year Paul Roos was on the other end. Last second try to win against Affies.

Garsfontein gone from obscurity to contenders, in what? The last 10 or so years? They're a new school to begin with (founded in 1988), but their rise to Top 10 contenders has been quite meteoric!

Quite a potent pack this year too, goodness. And defensively a very well organized unit. How they held out against Outeniqua is anyone's guess. They absorbed so much pressure in that game yet got the W.

Grey 10 very good but there's currently a GR11 playing for KES 1st XV at 10 that is equally adept although battles with accuracy. His name is Simphiwe Moyo. A very rare talent. He's playing behind a pack that is often out muscled and a 9 that is, generally, way out of his depth, but the kids got schools and finds a way to shine.

There seem to be a lot of quality 10's in school boy rugby this year. Helpmekaar's Tyler Sefoor, Noordheuwel's JT Kapank, DHS's Deano Boesak, KES's Simphiwe Moyo, Paarl Gim's Kyle Smith.... so many...

Wildeklawers is next level! There's no international school sports festival that can come close, in terms of quantity and quality. So glad all of it was streamed on the Supersport App. I watched a lot of 15A/16A games too. Some incredible results!

As much as the country is hemorrhaging resources, school boy rugby remains world class.

Glad to hear our schools are still churning out talent. Just a pity we can't keep them all in SA.

Just a reminder of the URC quater-finals this weekend -:

Friday, 5 May - Ulster v Connacht - 20:35
Saturday, 6 May - Stormers v Bulls - 15:30
- Leinster v Sharks - 18:00
- Glasgow Warriors v Munster - 20:35
Hoping for some tight, decent games. Hoping 2 SA sides can advance but I think realistically only 1 can.

Deon Fourie, no brainer, man is an absolute animal on the field.

Hell no ...... 5 starts with 4 penalties and he is captain material, haibo nope. Good player but he needs hella more game time and his discipline needs fixing

Nobody said he is captain material. They said he could fill in for Kolisi at 6.

Captain will be someone else if not Kolisi.
