Happy to see Manie given another go. It's a zero percent pressure situation. Arg have to win by 40 points to win the RC, but even if the Boks have one of their worst days days in recent history, it should still be enough to win the championship.

We should have plenty in the tank to get the job done.

40 points AND bonus point needed AFAIK.

You can win with 40 points without getting a BP

Huh? If they get a full five points, that means they draw level with us on log points, meaning it comes down to points difference. And in that regard, they would have to beat us by as near as makes no difference 40 points which won't happen in a month of Sundays.

Oh well. No need to watch the game now since they going to lose.

Tie breaker is results between teams, not points difference

Get in Sharks! They're normally the team doing the opposite, throwing games away in comical fashion.
Was a bit more than chilly billy though.
Luckily after that I passed out before the Springbok game.

Who Can Win The Rugby Championship 2024 Title?

  • If South Africa wins or earns a bonus point from the match it will take the title on competition points.
  • If there is a draw South Africa will take the title on competition points.
  • If Argentina wins with no bonus point, and South Africa do not get a bonus point, then South Africa will take the title on competition points.
  • If Argentina wins by a bonus point and South Africa does not get a bonus point the teams will be equal on competition points on the table.
    According to the tournament rules for two teams tied on competition points [see below] – and with both teams having won 4 matches - Argentina will take the title based on two wins over South Africa.

The points system for The Rugby Championship is similar to other international rugby union competitions, with a winning team receiving four points and two points awarded for a draw. However, the bonus points system is different to the one used in other tournaments. For The Rugby Championship, an attacking bonus point is given to the team that scores at least three more tries than the opposing team, while the defending bonus point is given to the team that loses by seven or fewer points.
