Better than last week. Attacking wise we look so much better with Libbok. I genuinely think he is the best passing 10 in the world. He can fire absolute pin point bullets off his left and right. Some of the newer players looked great EdVM a worthy Kolbe, KLA replacement. Nortjie great around the pitch and lineout. Cobus Wiese leapfrogged Moerat after today. He has far more power compared to Moerat. Roos good. JHW is great in the loose. Van Staden one of his better games. Hooker some nice moments.

I missed the game but I see we seen to be having a rassie moment again, something about a midfield line out?

Yeah, 2 of them. They copied the Paul Roos 3rds move from earlier this year.

Also deliberately gave away a scrum at the kick off.

Jasper looked good until his brainfart. Seen RG do worse to his own teammates but that's still not on.

Cobus Wiese looked really good, but I bet the Italians were feeling the cumulative pain by then. Need to see him start.

Nortje very good as always. Very good in the lineouts and always does his bit everywhere else, perhaps a superior Mostert in thr long term.

JHW is only 24. He couls play 10 years+ for the Boks yet. He will get better at his core duties. Excellent on defense and in the loose.

Malcolm Marx got better as the game wore on. Started to look like his old self.

Manie's passing is very good. His kicking has improved a lot, deapite the misses. They were not way off the mark yanks as before. Close misses.

Ethan Hooker had a good cameo. Moodie looked good too.

Just need to sort out that breakdown.

I missed the game, sadly. We watched a really one-sided Wimbledon final in Ladies this afternoon ... in muted silence. We had a good friend around for coffee for the precise duration of the tennis.

Given the quality of the tennis, I think that I would have preferred watching a kak game of rugby this evening (in silence, nogal!).

Who is the Edwil/Edwin kid? Never seen him play before but jus, he has speed hey

Strange game!

Loved the start, force the scrum only to concede a short arm for an early shove. A bit embarrassing but the innovation, as always, is top drawer.

Italians got away with far less at the breakdowns this week, kudos to Brace for blowing the infringements.

Once again our attack from 1 phase ball is devastating but when it goes beyond 1st phase we struggle. That needs sorting. The AB's aren't going to gift us tries from 1st phase possession. Also our lineout mauls are nowhere.

The Italian 7 was unreal at the breakdowns, must have won 3 or 4 breakdown penalties.

At what stage does the player on the ground simply let the turnover happen and not hold on? Is it easier to defend turnover ball? Or a penalty and what follows?

When Moerat was subbed the Italians won 1 out of 6 or 7 of their own lineouts. Moerat was static on the oppositions lineout ball, while Wiese was full of movement and very disruptive. It completely wrecked the Italian lineouts.

Rassie is a genius coach, of that there is very little doubt but I am truly perplexed as to what he sees in Moerat. Injury prone, no presence in the lineout and just generally too upright when he carries. Gave away 1 or 2 penalties tonight but that's par for the course.

Anyway, the shape of the game sort of disintegrated at stages, particularly in the 2nd half. It got super loose and messy. A bit like crickets Baz Ball can sometimes go pear-shaped when batters get out playing wreckless shots, so too can Tony Ball when players start throwing hail-Mary passes. Every play doesn't need to be a Harlem Globetrotter moment.

Jasper's headbutt was ridiculous! So dumb and impulsive. A red card means lawyers, hearings, banning's, loss of earnings, potential to get dropped etc etc etc for what? Ego got the better of him, he wasn't going to be outwrestled, he got super frustrated and in the heat of the moment, gave his challenger the lightest of headbutts. Enjoy the 3 match ban son. Really stupid. He had made a decent return after a longish injury layoff and then that....

So 45-0 is pretty damn comprehensive, Italy never really looked like scoring. In fact I can't remember how many times, if at all, they were in the Bok 22. As comprehensive as it was, it was technically flawed at times. One must also bare in mind we played with 14 for much of the game and this was essentially our 2nd string players, with a whole host of players returning from injury.

I suppose we can't really be too critical of the result but if we had been firing on all cylinders, one feels this could easily have been a 60 to 70 point victory... we were that dominant...

Haven't watched lions or stormers play for ages no. Sharks or Boks, the rest highlights if I have time.

The sharks play the lions/stormers like 5 times a year in URC and Currie cup. But as speedster alluded too, Shakes have signed him for next season. Big loss for the Lions...
