According to this report, Ramaphosa lost the NW. The problem for the Mkhize crowd is the Ramaphosa crowd have a lock on EC (2nd biggest no. of votes) and Limpopo (3rd biggest no. of votes) which, when combined, easily surpasses the no. of KZN votes.

I think the proper way is to say he has lot the support of the leadership, because he has apparently "lost" Limpopo as well since Mathabatha has jumped over to the dark side.

I think the weak willed delegates might find themselves conflicted but I doubt the leaders changing sides automatically means all the delegates will move with them.

Feel for Lamola to be honest. Politics isn’t guaranteed.
I think he could be a little matured about it, especially since we have seen with Dabede that being a Deputy President does not guarantee you anything.

Truth is the EC has much more sway with its delegates and they are all going to throw their weight behind Mabuyane, MP might vote for him but on the balance of probabilities, it looks like Mabuyane is going to get more votes than him.

I think he is still young, he should regroup, mobilise properly and wait his turn, anything can happen in politics.

He's fumbling. Doesn't have anything in any bag, he's busy alienating various allies. Mkhize might well be our president next year. He needs it to get off the legal hook and build another Zuma like family dynasty. Not sure who his "Indians" would be.
Can agree. But at least it's only one year of Mkhize and not five...

I think CR has it in the bag. But if CR doesn’t. ANC is a dead party waking.
It's already on life-support and the prognosis is terminal.

Will be dead by 2024.
Precisely.

The thing is, the incoming President will determine the speed of ANC's obliteration.

If Mkhize wins, ANC's electoral chances will dissolve almost instantly. If CR wins, the death will be a bit slower but still unavoidable.

Essentially whoever wins, will be the captain of a sinking ship.
