Not a labor expert but have done hiring and firing. You cannot just fire someone, there are legal disciplinary procedures, from warnings to suspension to finally dismissal. It's a process that the DA cannot simply ignore and its costly.

This is stupid.

Tshwane received clean audits while under ANC control.

The same BEE ANC appointed CFO who was there for more than 10 years suddenly forgot how to do his job when the DA took over to sabotage them.

Ekhruleni and jhb got clean audits under the ANC.

A clean audit doesn't mean there's no corruption or wasted money, it just means the books balance, no money was blatantly stolen without the required accounting.

Yes that is obvious.
These municipalities that have large bloated HR and legal departments that can do the bit admin required to do get rid of bad employees and contractors.

Where you been the last almost 30 years to not witness/be aware of the systemic rot put in place to protect cadre deployment?

Its not as simple as saying "You're fired!" like we see on TV from the US.

Rather than just take potshots, fill us in on this "How to do it thats so easy" that DA or whoever in charge should be doing, that show their incompetence.

Local, provincial and national goverment. The system as designed, from even the Nats days, labels itself a democracy, but very limited powers for those not in charge at national lvl.

How do we get the turkeys to vote for thanksgiving?

So what is the argument now? That the DA is to incompetent to cleanup that rot? That it will take 30 more years to get the cadres out because you have to wait until they die?

Geez dude. The legal requirements that you need to follow in order to fire some is publicly available. It is not secret knowledge. Everyone who employ someone needs to comply with it.

You can do an instant dismissal for some things, so yes you can fire people on the spot. Or well you'll suspend them immediately pending investigation and call them back the following week to inform them they are now fired.

Even saying that is still making excuses for the DA, the CFO guy is a DA appointee as well as the the municipal manager and most of senior managers, because those are mostly on 5 year contracts. The DA took over in 2016 already, not in 2021 as some people would like us to believe, that excuse would have worked well in 2017 or 2018, not in 2022.

Read everything I said, before starting a stupid semantic argument.

You can suspend someone's employment immediately without pay and refuse them further access to the business premises for a serious offense until such a time when you have the final disciplinary hearing where you fire them officially.

It is a bit of admin, but it is the same as firing them on the spot.
