Rietrot please have some self respect? The guy was acting in the CFO position when the DA took over, they were not tied by anything to continue with him, they appointed him to the position, they were free to choose anyone of their liking, the chose him and gave him a new contract, that's what it means when they say someone is appointed.

What about the city manager? Is he also an ANC person they were unable to get rid of? Or did they appoint him?
It is reason for suspicion, and then you would pick up on a guy not complying with the auditor generals request before you fail the audit.

This is stupid.

Tshwane received clean audits while under ANC control.

The same BEE ANC appointed CFO who was there for more than 10 years suddenly forgot how to do his job when the DA took over to sabotage them.

Ekhruleni and jhb got clean audits under the ANC.

A clean audit doesn't mean there's no corruption or wasted money, it just means the books balance, no money was blatantly stolen without the required accounting.
So a talented and clever CFO can hide plenty of misdeeds. But eventually it just becomes too much to hide. Just another angle on the argument.

Geez dude. The legal requirements that you need to follow in order to fire some is publicly available. It is not secret knowledge. Everyone who employ someone needs to comply with it.

You can do an instant dismissal for some things, so yes you can fire people on the spot. Or well you'll suspend them immediately pending investigation and call them back the following week to inform them they are now fired.
What is also commonly available for you to find is how much these suspended officials are costing the taxpayer annually. Look it up.

And they are right if they found the people already appointed in the positions, they are not political deployees, they are city employees, you can't just get rid of them because they look suspiciously like ANC people.

Having said that, the DA has no such problem in Tshwane, so the point is moot, blaming employees for their incompetence is just another reasonable explanation.
The we can blame the DA for their incompetence but not the employees? Okay!

Do you applaud the DA or the employees with all those clean audits in Cape Town? Yes, I know, coming up with new definitions of doing things when things are bad is just too convenient, they just work there, if the city political heads and management decide they spend the money meant for building a road or providing water to residents on some party there is nothing the employees can do.

Ordinary employees has nothing to do with clean or not clean audits, they don't approve funding, they don't determine how monies should be used or misused, they don't have a say in complying or not complying with financial management good practices.

It is is the political leadership and the city management who are responsible for all of that, the party that is in power appoints the the city management, and yes, just as much as they take all the credit when things are peachy like in Cape Town or Midvaal, they should catch all the flak when things go wrong, we don't suddenly become creative and come up with all sorts of silly reasonable explanations when the metro gets an adverse audit.

The way it is done is just to employ cadres' family members consultants or overcharged for goods.

You can get a clean financial audit this way. Then it eventually becomes the norm and the market rate to run a municipality with 1000 consultants and pay R100000 to fix a single pothole, so then the DA also does it without even thinking it is corruption, and DA fanboys will eventually argue that is the true cost of filing a pothole.

BREAKING | Hawks raid ANC bigwig's home over R1bn Tembisa Hospital tender scandal
The Hawks on Wednesday raided the home and business premises of ANC Ekurhuleni treasurer-general, Sello Sekhokho, as part of investigations into the R1-billion Tembisa Hospital tender scandal.
Sekhokho is a central figure in an alleged extraction scheme first discovered and reported by Babita Deokaran three weeks before she was murdered in August 2021.
Sekhokho has previously denied impropriety. Three companies owned by the ANC strongman have, in three years, seemingly scored contracts worth nearly R100 million from the Gauteng Department of Health.

Is it just me or are EFF KZN imploding...?

First, losing many leaders to IFP and now this?
Not saying they are imploding or not imploding but councillors or ordinary members are not really leaders in my opinion, Marshal Dlamini is a leader, if he defects to the IFP, it is a big deal.

So how many leaders have they lost to the IFP and what positions did they hold in the party?

What new majority? If you read that Zille tweet about the opposition you'll see that she seems to have given up trying to win a majority or grow the party among the black electorate. Unless 20% is the new majority.
The way I've always interpreted a "new majority" is a majority UF government...? /shrug

I meant "leaders" in a sarcastic way, should've put it in italic.

But the point is it seems many are defecting from EFF KZN to IFP, regardless of leadership status...

How did they even get clean audits when Malusi Booi was stealing millions in bags and tenders where being given to the drug bosses?

If thats the case- then what do the audits even mean?

Does anyone know why the DA is not fond of providing numbers for leadership elections? They just tell you John has won and often never say he got 1900 votes compared to Phalatse who only got 10, why is that?

So they're relying on the other parties to beat the ANC? Someone has to win votes off of the ANC for this to work, not just win but ensure those votes don't go to the EFF.

The IFP are claiming a lot of defections from ANC/ABC/EFF and ActionSA. But considering they haven't named a single one I doubt it's anyone of importance
