Defections happen all the time in politics. They are to be expected.

EFF were never really be a big deal in KZN anyway. It's the one province they don't really have much traction apart from mainly on University campuses.

Which "many leaders" did they lose to the IFP?

No, I guess? But what does it matter that much at the end of the day anyway? It might be good for theorizing, keeping score, etc, but if an oke wins, he wins.
 
True. We now learn that millions were lost due to corruption- yet CPT still gets a clean audit?

It will be a while before the DA feel comfortable to give the leadership reigns to a black person. The last time they did- the Ooms and Tannies didnt like it so much.

So much so that they had to remove Mmusis face from tshirts and other election material.

Audits mean you have paid the "auditors" enough to say what you want them to say

You have a massive blind spot when it comes to the DA.

The ANC are attacked all the time for imploding and Action SA currently are being accused of imploding (due to resignations of Bongani Baloyi and a few others).

Also, who are the "many" who have left EFF for IFP?

Ngwenya might have been trusted but she was the type of person who actually went to the length of changing her name from Sinethemba to Gwenn which says something even though Sinethemba is a far better sounding name.

Here we go...

Every time a "leader" leaves the DA, then there are unlimited articles condemning the DA and opinion pieces about "DA BLACK LEADERS" or some **** like that.
When was the last time someone openly defected from ANC? Were they accused of imploding or being on their deathbed? Only recently ASA started to get the same accusations but nothing close to what the DA gets (I didn't see any "black leader" articles there...)

Even recently with Gwen Ngwenya, it was the same thing.

30 currently, that we know of. They are and will probably be many more.

It is something to take note and possibly worth celebrating. The EFF experienced a massive increase in vote share in KZN between 2014 and 2019...from 1.85 percent to 9.71 percent so if they collapse in KZN, their overall vote share is likely to go south as well because they ain't making it up in the WC,EC or Gauteng.

They won't collapse soon totally in KZN. If something happened to Malema, possibly but they won't totally anytime soon and neither will they score a big amount of votes there either.

The IFP's stronghold are mainly in rural parts, they don't have much presence in urban parts of KZN which is why the EFF do well on campuses among some who don't see the DA or ANC as options.

The places where they'll move up are places like NW, LM and MP.
