The ANC are regularly accused of being on their deathbed. Many articles have been written on how they will lose the country by 2029, some predict even next year.

Action SA are still a small party and the DA are the second biggest in the country so obviously DA affairs will be covered more.

I mean as a result of someone/some people/leaders defecting. Not because of losing vote share. Two different circumstances.

What the hell is happening in EKH? I saw some articles naming Campbell as mayor still. I had thought she got removed months ago? Are the ANC-EFF still dicking around over positions?

It's understandable not to know whether you are coming or going with these coalitions and motions of no confidence, but yes, she is still mayor, she was removed and came back.

How did she come back? Court challenge? I know she got removed, then re-elected by the EFF, but I thought she then got removed a third time?

Ordinary employees has nothing to do with clean or not clean audits, they don't approve funding, they don't determine how monies should be used or misused, they don't have a say in complying or not complying with financial management good practices.

It is is the political leadership and the city management who are responsible for all of that, the party that is in power appoints the the city management, and yes, just as much as they take all the credit when things are peachy like in Cape Town or Midvaal, they should catch all the flak when things go wrong, we don't suddenly become creative and come up with all sorts of silly reasonable explanations when the metro gets an adverse audit.

No I don't. Because I don't trust any of them. But it is better than failing the audit.

It's not a forensic audit. As I understand it these audits check that the correct procedures are in place and adhered to. Those with criminal intent have ways to use the system without causing undue alarm. It needs a more indepth audit to uncover. If you read the Daily Maverick article on Eskom corruption you would see how they are able to undermine the system. But apparently this can't happen under the ANC.

This guy destroyed his political capital after his second political exit. Unfortunately a mayor of a small municipality doesn't equate to anything much really. I think he let all the glowing media reports of him being a good black mayor of a small town get to his head. Thought he'd outgrown the DA and now he's out in the cold.

He should have just bided his time and run for premier of Gauteng behind the DA. Would have been his best shot at the big time. Then he could have given them the middle finger. Now he'll be scrubbing the back benches with has-beens like Magashule Gana et al. Too bad.

The ANC must come out and explain why their BEE policies have failed so drastically. There are way too many whites in position of power in municipalities around the country. It is unacceptable.
