Dunno, for sure. But what I can say is ANC is ****ed, I mean if they're polling sub-40% at the start of 2023, where will they be by April...?

But I'd say if the elections were held with the current sentiment:

ANC 41%
DA 26%
EFF 12%
IFP 6%
ASA 5%
VF+ 3%

What would yours be?

It ain't impossible.

It's what has been said in polls up until now, with the most recent one putting them at even 27%, so they must be getting/gaining support from somewhere to poll this well.
In the turmoil leading to 2019, they polled sub-21%, even high-10%...

Places like uMngeni, TSH (If they can rally and get it together), places like Springbok, etc. Areas where they govern by UF or on their own, that manage to get things done, will definitely benefit them and other UF members of course.
Appreciate the detailed response.

Based off today, I’d say

ANC 45%
DA 19%
EFF 14%
Action and IFP 5%
Then others

Edit: initially I said 48% for the ANC.

Ahmad is working.

Mashaba wasted a lot of time trying to nurse the DA's feelings and now he is also caught up in the DA's failures.

Failing to take a firm stand even when the DA were blatantly showing him the middle finger is going to be his downfall, people are going to look at his indicision and start to wonder if he is beholden to the DA in some way.

His MMCs have also been caught in some scandals that makes his party look bad, hopefully he wakes up soon because the way he is going now is not going to help him.

The EFF is being very strategic, there are still municipalities that are DA led with the EFF support, the time will come when those would be used as bargaining tools.

If it was do you think they would still be going now?
They're EFF-backed like Mogale.
What's the makeup of the council?
To be precise:

ANC 14
DA 7
EFF 4
VF+ 3

When it came to electing the mayor, the DA mayor won the coin toss since there was a deadlock (no, I'm not joking). And then became mayor.

A few sighs of relief I'm sure, lol.
