What's the story there?
They were formed when the residents were propresting Matatiele being moved either from KZN to Eastern Cape or vice versa, so they were supposed to take votes from the ANC there to force their hand, everyone was pleasantly surprised when the started getting votes even in places where no one has ever heard of them.
 
The previous coalitions lasted longer, 2016 to 2019 I think for Joburg and 2016 to 2020 for Tshwane. This time things fell apart fast fast, that's why it look like the others are lasting.
The Tshwane UF coalition is still on. The only difference is they're getting a new mayor.
 
At that's where it all falls apart.
Doesn't seem like it at least.

From what I've gathered so far is that the mayoralty belongs to DA (and it does seem everyone agrees on this), they need to select the new candidate and the coalition needs to approve it. Then of course actually voting him/her in.

So I'd say far from falling apart.
