The SA Politics Thread Part 3

I think he was using hyperbole to point out how candidates are ill selected.

In your opinion who can these wardens confront?
Is there any value for money deploying force like that in a country that has 82 murders a day?
He is being dishonest, they are not cops, at least not in the traditional sense of SAPS, even the metro police don't just go and confront Zama Zamas without the involvement of SAPS. Those are properly planned intelligence driven projects.

They will confront criminals, depending on the nature and the level of the threat, common sense tells me they can deal with someone who breaks into your property to steal a TV and call the cops after that, but common sense also tells they won't be getting into a confrontation with CIT robbers or heavily armed Zama Zamas without SAPS being present to lead the operation.

I honestly don't understand why anyone is confused? They will be working closely with the communities, community patrols, CP and the cops.

Yes

Yes
Sometimes you really amaze me, how can you put your standards so low to defend indefensible.
Are those best candidates that they managed to come up, give them a gun and send them on the streets?!

FYI guys that break to steal your tv have a gun.

Is their training better than this police captain?!

The Zimbabweans also add to the chaos since that's also their route.

Panyaza must make sure the train is properly designed for the Groot trek.
True. It would be great to have reliable train service that goes that way, and imagine it branches off to the tzaneen and those areas. It would be great for tourists as well as locals if out train lines were working properly. The fancy trains can do the tourists and we the locals can enjoy the train ride down to go visit our parents.

I hate busses. I can just imagine I’m not the only person.

Trains to the northern cape .. just rail roads that work. What a novelty.

And no the current ones are crap and LS ****s it up. Speaking from experience.

I am just happy you are now more informed than the Cameron guy, chances of you reading the headline in the newspaper about Gauteng crime wardens who engaged in a lone battle against Zama Zamas or CIT robbers are zero.

What an idiot, you didn't even read the article. Beaumont made valid points
I don't understand why you are angry, the DA is the leader of the Moonshot, no one cares about Beaumont's valid points, he will do the right thing and give Steenhuisen the respect that he deserves, no matter how painful it may be.

The leader of the Moonshot has pronounced on the direction the Moonshot is taking, if Beaumont doesn't like it, he knows where the door is, stop grumbling and use it.

Precisely. The FF, ACDP & IFP know their place in the Moonshot, ASA needs to also learn that if they want to be more influential in the moonshot, they need to get more votes. It's nonsense to expect that everyone is an equal partner when one party achieves far in excess of all other parties in the moonshot. ASA acting like the black sheep in the coalition, that troublesome uncle of family lore.

Beaumont is a liability to ASA, he must be removed, his ex-wife getting porked by Johnny boy has left him with so much anger.

We've got this, we'll get it done and still have enough time to produce even more millionaires, more taxpayers and still be kind enough to donate some to the Independent Republic.

So far you guys are getting jackschit done

Pretty much. ASA being upset over this is plain stupid.

This is like I said a while back...

This is another attempt by the others to win votes from DA and essentially try to reduce their influence in the coalitions, by essentially going "See!?? DA BAD cuz they no accede to us. We are very gracious and non-arrogant.". Simple undermining and attempting to one-up the DA, make the DA look bad in managing coalitions, swoop in and claim to be the "oh so lovely" good samaritans like ASA and Oom Mulder moonlights to be.

I still find it hilarious tho. When ASA left in EKH and did their own thing it was fine, but now DA does the same in JHB because they refuse to work with PA, now it's a problem.

It seems ASA is hellbent on undermining Moonshot coalitions to get quick wins vs DA. It happened in TSH with the power stations, it's happened in JHB...

P.S
Also lol. /tfw the poll was nothing but a populist PR stunt in the end

Ignoring the typical "DA MUST OBEY US" ASA rhetoric... Here are the possible outcomes today:
  • ANC/EFF wins
  • No outright winner which would lead to:
    • Mpho going to the second round and other Moonshot okes vote for her begrudgingly
    • The ASA candidate goes to the second round and DA votes or abstains for the candidate
