And you can study at Uni for less than Northwood's fees which makes his claims about not having finances questionable.

If Malema attended Northwood and made the same claims, many here would be questioning him.

It's weird. You'd think the worse governance gets the electorate would wake and educate himself about the quality of leadership he's getting. Instead people are rushing more and more toward unworkable, unsustainable populist options.

Not really buttercup.

And yes you can study at University for a base fee less than Northwood without a doubt... that was also the case when I was at school. The base student fee at University was lower than the High school fees.

And yes we would question Malema if he made the same claims, because we know that Malema is crooked as fsck and has stolen money from VBS so can easily call BS on a claim like that.

Some on the fence and undecided people will also vote for him for the novelty of it, just as they voted Trump in 2016.

I see him doing well next year but maybe his party will fizzle out in 2029.

It's sad as **** but things are so dire, people look for "quick fixes"...

And the populists like Gayton offer them...

Death penalty, abolition/suspension of the Constitution, etc... All "quick fixes" that'll fix our country instantly... At least, according to them...

Yeah, its just sad in the extreme...

We have a voting population that doesn't seem to want to understand that the situation we're in requires hard decisions that will take a generation to bear fruit to actually fix the country. Anything that is a "quick fix" will more than likely make the situation a whole lot worse.

Perhaps the parties that are losing support to Gayton should look to themselves rather than him.

I also like him and feel he is genuine, but the fact of the matter is that he is sitting in council with the same people who did not care that R259m has just disappeared without a trace and what it was supposed to fix has still not been fixed, that is the reality of the situation, so telling us that he has budgeted so much to townships is very little comfort, let's see the walls going up and I will be start taking notice.

I agree but it is not his fault really that other DA cadres are corrupt. From what little of what I have heard & read, he has started well but as you say, let us wait to see how things develop.

This is all I am interested in, something I can touch and feel, less about impressive budgets, more about actual service delivery.

The DA certainly failed in all the time they've been in rule in Tshwane. It is sure not easy to follow near 2 decades of ANC misrule but, this new guy makes sense. Give it a chance and see if he can make a difference. Their first round was a little bit strangled by their mistake in teaming up with the EFF and letting them run tenders.

And the labour environment in ANC land is going to be a huge challenge plus all the officials who know all the loopholes and have been "eating" aren't going to make life easy.

Edit: those budget allocations are tiny though.

What is also not easy is to surpass the ANC misrule, which is what the DA has managed to do in Tshwane, I hope for their sakes they realise that they are soon going to run out of excuses.

The labour environment in ANC land? Is that ANC land different to the ANC land in the other metros? The DA has had a longer time governing Tshwane than they've had in the other metros, yet Tshwane is somehow in the worst position than the other ANC land metros? Surely there is something not gelling there?

Lubocon & Mahcon owners seem to be ANC cadres. It is such heartening that DA is working with ANC.

Bodes well for 2024 coalition. It looks certain that we will have at least John as DP, if not as a President. I have tears in my eyes. All the superior genes are finally going to get jobs.
Lubbicon Civils worked with Mahcon Company to fix the road in record time.
