Don't think so. The point is Mpho didn't even make the shadow MMC lineup... It seems she's been completely rejected by her caucus.
Isn't that like saying the outgoing President did not make the cabinet of the new President? Generally when you have reached the apex you move on and not accommodated at a lower level, she served two terms as caucus leader and did not contest for the third, I doubt there was any expectations to be accommodated in the shadow committee, especially since there's nothing much for her to gain in that.

Or is there a tradition of accommodating the outgoing leader in the new leader's shadow committee?

Ok, you have a point.

But still, if Mpho doesn't win at the DA GP congress, then she'll have to be happy with being a usual JHB councillor again...

Paywalled, but I think the headline is generally enough.

I would never ever put the PA or Al-Jamah into this supposed coalition, they have shown their colours multiple times already and its not something that the country needs.

Imagine having an Al Jamal state president every 2 months

Mind you that's exactly what Saffers deserve

I think we'd rotate between Al-Jamah and the PA every 2 or 3 months... Cos Gayton would collapse national government in a heartbeat if he thought he could get a better deal from the other side.

Also not forgetting how okes praise sang for Hersov before he turned against DA.

Hersov is probably in business with Gayton.

So as always, context and nuance is important.

He was praised for standing up and saying what many of us say in relation to the ANC and how they're fscking the country up.
He was questioned for buying the airport in CPT and the "grand" plans he put forward for it... whilst good seemed somewhat pie in the sky, and that seems to be playing out in reality.

His support of Gayton is just absolutely non-sensical and makes one question the mans sanity in general.
