Excellent work by the DA to pick up the two wards, especially given that they are some of the most competitive wards in the country with 3/4 parties having a realistic chance of winning.
They were just 3 percentage points off winning a clean sweep!

Same same. My folks have lived in a small Southern Cape town for the last 22 years. Their home was the third built in the area, there was nothing, if you blinked you'd miss it. In the last five years something like 40 mansions have been built. 20-30 bar holiday homes are not uncommon there now.

Yeah I'm in Plett at the moment and the size of the mansions would not look out of place in many of the wealthy urban areas in SA. I'm gobsmacked by the amount of development even compared to when I last visited in 2018.
Just say you don't care about animals suffering and we move on.
Great news for outright majority for DA, no pandering to smaller parties, just hope that with 28 vs 27 they have no rogue members voting with opposition but with other parties like FF+ and ACDP they should easy see off any disruption from ANC/PA/EFF/Good.
