He is being silly. Only president has powers to arrest & convict people, not panyaza.
Nice try

While Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi on Tuesday told eNCA that “heads will roll” within 23 hours, on Wednesday the department said that it had consulted lawyers about the report.

23 hours was up a few years back, suspensions, dismissals, charges ????

The DA knows it has no hope with uneducated masses in rural SA, so why really bother? Elections are about finite resources for maximum gain. Nothing wrong with that.

Well, if they had good strategists, it is possible for them to win votes in rural areas. Trollip helped them grow quite a bit in EC.

They've made it pretty clear that under the new leadership, the aim is just satisfying the needs of the "core electorate" and being a 20% party.

Btw, not sure what you are onto about "uneducated masses". People with formal education often make poor voting choices. We have seen that pretty much throughout history. The EFF actually have a leadership which is more educated than the DA and ANC.

Urghh...not sure why you bring up the EFF? I was talking about the ANC having a grip on the rural uneducated masses. It's well known in SA that educational attainment levels are low in SA, especially so in rural SA.

Also I'm not sure why you talk about the leadership of the various political parties when I'm talking about their supporters/voters.

I'm talking about the whole of SA, not a specific province.

The DA does not have much presence and does not even contest in many of those communities. Should the DA not be looking to try and better establish relationships there? How can you expect people to vote for a party when they don't even know who the candidates are?

Colour me impressed by this move, but obviously there are quesitons about who was to pay for the transport, and how many people they were actually going to trasnport.
That's where the scandal is, remember as an EFF councillors you are supposed to buy a bakkie because you are expected to transport fighters to rallies and protests. So even this I have no doubt they were supposed to make a plan, those who can convince some people with money to pay for the busses are those who were able to make it.

Paywalled.

IEC is investigating claims of voter registration interference in Ward 49, Mangaung.
Hopefully it's not another 188 voters registered at a single address but properly registered.
