The SA Politics Thread Part 3

Panyaza is well aware that there are people out there fighting tooth and nails to discredit his efforts.

Addressing the crowd, Lesufi said they have no time to play in Gauteng. “From the 1st of August and the 1st of September some of you will start at your new jobs,” he said.

He added that he didn’t want to give out appointment letters in offices as some people would take the letters and give them to their friends and not the person meant to receive the letter.

I didn't get this part. Wouldn't appointment letter mention ID number and specific details?

They would have specific details so he doesn't literally mean Mkhize wil get Buthelezi's appointment letter, I think it's just a way of him saying he is making the process as transparent as possible, because people are really that desperate to cast doubt and start false rumours.

Remember the time the DA claimed coloureds were chased away at the gates when applications were done? With people that desperate to spread false rumours he will need all the PR and transparency he can get, but the same people who are spread false rumours are the same people who will moan about the pomp and ceremony.

If he just did things in a normal way he will be accused of handing jobs to ANC supporters in secret, when he does things publicly and transparently he is accused of showing off and wasting money.
This is exactly what he said to Clement this morning. Did you hear him talk somewhere else? Also, parading the job recipients in public doesn't do anything to dispel the accusations he's employing ANC cadres. No one knows who they are or what party they belong to. On the ground, ANC councillors do encourage the narrative that it is the ANC giving them jobs.

It was the chance for anyone of those aggrieved to go to Orlando stadium to see the recipients and gather evidence to prove their case. Some of them even posted on Twitter about being appointed, Panyaza is so kind he is making it easy for the haters.

And what if the ANC councillors make it look like it's the ANC giving them jobs? I mean the DA even takes the credit for private sector jobs created in the Western Cape, what's the big deal? That's what politicians do.

The communists are toasting
That is unexpected, the ground must be shifting under the Commander's feet, he has been saying strange things lately.

The EFF lot has dug themselves in too deep and it would be difficult if they were to fall out, so they have no choice but to stick together.

It's a bit interesting. The EFF need the ANC to continue to decline while they don't. They also need CR to resign next year. If the ANC win outright the EFF will have trouble recovering.

But what the Commander needs to know is that Floyd is equally ruthless.

I really doubt if Floyd can motivate even 5% of EFF to come along with him. No matter what one thinks about Malema, he is a crowd-puller. If Malema stopped uttering racist things, he could actually get more votes. He can keep his racism to himself and just voice it anon'ly. He needs to attend some braai sessions with mybb guys.

5%? With the way things are going I think he can easily pull that off, he can start with the 400 councillors who were banned from the birthday bash. There will be scores of sponsors who will be waiting to sponsor him because there are many people who woukd like to cut them to size.

He could use that angle, be a less racist version of the EFF, populism works for a while after that it starts getting old and the supporters start getting bored.

But throwing the job security away and the fact that if they break up they will be vulnerable to prosecution is not an appealing proposition, so safety in numbers.

You are right, Floyd would be stupid to breakaway from main herd. Was any breakaway part as successful as EFF ? To get about 10% votes nationally I mean.

The Purple Cow founder and @TheChamp agree on something:

Hmmm.....
Tell that to all those young people who will be starting work on the 1st of next month, look at them in the eye and tell them it's fokkol.

One thing is clear, haters are besides themselves with worry, they cannot even think straight. At least I warned all of you that things are going to change when he was elected, never say I wasn't there for you.
