The SA Politics Thread Part 3

If there is a need for these people then so be it. But tell me, the people that are already employed to exactly these jobs, what are they doing?
Let's take the crime warden example, We have an acute shortage of police officers and crime fighting resources in the country, if rich provinces like the WC and Gauteng and metros like Cape Town and Jo'burg are able to reduce the burden on SAPS then SAPS can deploy more resources to other areas that needs them most. Even with this Gauteng initiative we will still be short. We should be welcoming this and encouraging the harnessing of all resources in the fight against crime.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with such initiatives, that's why there was never a single complaint here when the WC launched LEAP, no accusations of vote buying, nothing, why is it suddenly a problem now? The answer is simple, people are incapable of seeing beyond their hatred for Panyaza.

I'll just respond to you with @R13... 's quote

LEAP wasn't created for the same reasons amaPanyaPanya was. AmaPanyaPanya is a desperate last-ditch effort to win GP votes for ANC.
LEAP was created to try and address the failings of SAPS (under ANC national gov control) and combat crime.

Yeah, I can also tell you the same thing about the Gauteng crime wardens, but you won't like it because it's done by Panyaza and not the DA, it's as simple as that.

Or maybe it is possible to appreciate a good job being done by Panyaza, without necessarily being a supporter of the ANC? I was amongst those who were the biggest supporter of Mashaba's insourcing while he was still a DA mayor, even though I wasn't supporting the DA.

It looks like some people struggle to give credit where it's due if the person deserving of the credit does not belong to their party, I have certainly not heard you complaining about vote buying when the WC employs crime wardens in the Independent Republic.
This Lesufi of the COVID scam.? 23 hours is up years ago, but what's 431m between comrades.

While Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi on Tuesday told eNCA that “heads will roll” within 23 hours, on Wednesday the department said that it had consulted lawyers about the report.

The Moonshot in action.
Great stuff. KZN will soar to heights never seen before of the IFP/DA coalition rule the province. They just need to copy the already made template of the Independent Republic, who have successfully made the ANC mere spectators in the province.

So ANC has lost Richard’s Bay? Are they going to ban the coal trucks now?

The DA also want to create a deputy mayor position in Tshwane, of course strictly for enhancing service delivery and not to reward a coalition partner. Of course all this while shouting at Ramaphosa to trim his cabinet.

The DA has a deputy mayor position in CT and hasn't needed a coalition partner for quite a long time now.

Buying power.

The position has always been there, no? Why would they want to create one for Tshwane? Does it not make them hypocrites who are just as determined to spread patronage at the taxpayer's expense?
