National pride is a remnant of a bygone era best forgotten. Unless we want to be like Russia or those other schitholes
A bit of patriotism/national pride for your country does no harm.

A total ultra-nationalist, authoritarian regime however is a totally different ballgame.

One leads to the other. So that path is best avoided

One day you're cheering for Banana Banana the next day you're burning some pesky foreigners who opened shop around the corner

In what way? You can move to a dozen countries and play just as well or even better
But you won't be able to just play for their national teams, right?

Many sportsmen say that it's their biggest dream to play for their country/national team. I.e some sense of patriotism. And of course, what the players get from their national unions could be a pittance in comparison to what they get from their clubs...

Not really no. Unless you take a quantum leap in logic of course...

>Be me
>Support Springboks and Banyana Banyana on the same day
>cue next day

>Burn down spaza shops and kill foreigners
>WINNING

Don't do national sports teams, kids...

Another stupid rule. You should be free to represent any country that you identify with. Anything else is pure discrimination

One day the world will move beyond these backward ideas

Quantum leap? Have you seen what human beans have been getting up to lately? :X3:

Quantum leap?
No,

Bruv, I doubt anyone would become a radical, xenophobic ultra-nationalist right off the bat just because they support their national teams...

Talking about numbers, 1994 is a nice benchmark to use to predict how high the IFP can go in KZN.

They are still a long way from the 1m votes mark which they will need to exceed to break the 30% mark in the province. No idea what the DA is going to bring to the table, I don't see them going past the usual 14%.

He is talking about numbers, shouldn't you be presenting numbers of your own to show just how delusional he is?
Are you for real? This one is well known for being looney. Bruv even said that Anglo-Boer ghosts are causing KZN violence.

Also, ANC barely hit 40% in 2021. They and EFF have been taking resounding losses to the IFP since then.

IFP needs to hit around 30 - 35% (where they land will determine if they only need DA or if they need DA and other Moonshot partners) to completely take KZN for the Moonshot.

He obviously hasn't updated his views despite the massive by-election defeats to the IFP in the province. The ANC is weaker in the province than in the 2021 elections, where the barely scraped 40 percent in the province.
It could be political bravado talking, but what does your own numbers say if you ignore what he is saying? Is the IFP going to surpass 35%? I know how much you guys believe in by elections but there are simply not enough number to work with in a by election.

The most tried and tested method that has never failed is the turnout, there is unfortunately no signs that there will be a low turnout this election, which is very bad if you are a party with a limit to what you can get, that's the DA, they have never breached 15% in KZN even during their best years, it's not going to happen in this election, the IFP however has the potential, question is how far can they pull the alliance on their own?

Yes, I am for real.

We all know what needs to be done, going on about that is pointless, the question is, what is going to happen. Is the IFP going to get to 35%? Is the ANC going to remain on the 40%? There is no other Moonshot partner to assist in KZN, ActionSA and the Freedom Front are non entities in KZN, lthe Moonshot is the IFP and the DA.

A 48% turnout and an over 60% is going to yield two different outcomes.

Well, I know you can't directly compare municipal elections to national/provincial elections BUT we can likely use the 24% that the IFP got in 2021 as the minimum that they will get provincially given that the IFP has taken even more wards off the ANC since 2021. So getting to 30% shouldn't be too hard in 2024, getting to 35% will be hard but not impossible. The 16% the IFP got in 2019 is very old now, that should not be used at all in your thinking. That percentage is very out-dated.

Getting a ward could just mean getting 2 more votes, all the wards they got could mean 500 votes or even less, that's how useless wards are in predicting the outcome of a national election.

But I appreciate that you have done numbers, that's not very far off to what I think, if I had to bet I would put them at 30%.

My predictions relies on turnout, I know that the ANC are not going to get 40% if the turnout is over 60% it's going to be more.
