The taxi violence has added a few percentage points to the DA vote share in the WC elections next year. Just watch!

The taxi industry finally faced a government that didn't back down. The taxi industry is so used to a pathetic central government that they didn't what to do when faced with a government who have been broadly supported by the general public.

More hypocrisy from EFF.

The EFF in the Ekurhuleni metro council is dishonest regarding the outsourcing of security and cleaning services in the metro.
During a council meeting on 27 January 2022, the EFF council member and currently the mayoral committee member for finance, Nkululeko Dunga, insisted in a motion that the outsourcing of security and cleaning services be stopped and delivered directly by the metro.
After becoming a mayoral committee member, Dunga suddenly awarded tenders to ten different companies for security services for the period 1 July 2023 to June 2026. This stands in stark contrast to his previous motion on behalf of the EFF on this matter.
The FF Plus wanted to put probing questions to Dunga about the tenders at the last council meeting, but he did not attend the meeting.
At the next council meeting, the party will insist on answers as to why the tenders were awarded when the EFF had earlier insisted that these types of services should be provided by the metro itself.
It is clear that the EFF speaks with a split tongue.
The FF Plus' advice to the EFF is to stop its dishonesty, stick to the metro's procurement policy and renew the contracts with existing contractors who faithfully provided their services to the Ekurhuleni metro.
The FF Plus will continue its investigation into why the EFF suddenly changed its own position on the outsourcing of services.
- Denise Janse van Rensburg, FF Plus councilor in the Ekurhuleni metro council

Did Eskom write off Emfuleni's debt? Or is he spinning the fact that Eskom took over collections there?
Looks like EWN could have their wires crossed, it's Midvaal that was being commended. Although I have never understood how Emfuleni, Midvaal and Sedibeng works, it should be one massive municipality, or even a metro, they are way better that Mangaung.

Lesufi said Emfuleni is giving him sleepless nights because it was him who had to negotiate on behalf of the municipality when Eskom attached its bank account for failure to present a plan on how it will settle debt.

He commended the Midvaal municipality, the only one in the province that does not owe Eskom a cent, but is instead owed by the power utility.

“If we can’t fix our municipalities, we can’t fix the problem of electricity in Gauteng,” Lesufi told delegates.

Umm No, but expected. Combined the ANC will take control and relegate the DA who are doing sterling job to opposition.

Unfortunately, I have FS as one of the provinces which are lost causes to the opposition. Along with NW, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and EC. The only realistic goal here is to keep the ANC under 55.0 percent in the province
The goal in all provinces is to bring ANC vote share down nationally. But most likely the EFF will be the biggest winner in those provinces, which isn't good either...

The provinces that are up for grabs are basically GP, KZN and NC.
