I doubt they are going to be confused, they are a party of Gauteng and the Western Cape, they will have some presence in NC, but mainly it's all about Gauteng and WC. There is absolutely no need to spread resources in Limpopo or KZN for them.
 
I have suspicions the DA/IFP coalition that could oust ANC in KZN wont make a difference. Both IFP and DA in KZN seem to have "its our time to eat" mentalities.

The DA has been gearing up towards its 2024 campaign.


In a memo sent out to party members by Zille on 30 June, she set out that the party would put forward premier candidates in only five provinces: Western Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Northern Cape and the Free State.


Last week, party leader John Steenhuisen announced Roy Jankielsohn as the DA’s premier candidate for Free State.


The DA has listed a number of requirements for those applying for premier candidate positions. The party requires candidates to have completed matric; experience as a public representative; specialised or demonstrable skills; two years of involvement in the DA or a community; leadership or management experience in dealing with complex organisations and leading teams; and a positive public profile.

Solly Msimanga sets his sights on premier candidacy after re-election as DA Gauteng leader

Msimanga told Daily Maverick on Monday he is among those who have applied and been interviewed by the party to run as its Gauteng premier candidate in the 2024 elections. Msimanga is running against Ramulifho and MP Ghaleb Cachalia. The party is expected to announce its candidate in the coming weeks

Was that arranged with other Moonshot parties?

Seems DA isn't putting up a candidate in EC, LM, MP and NW.

Looks like all the provinces they are hopeless in, they have been overtaken by the EFF in MP and NW, so I think it make sense in terms of resources.

Forget about Gayton for a second, why is the DA still skirting around the issue of signing the declaration?

As much as they talk about an ANC/EFF doomsday, they want to leave open the option of governing with the ANC.

They've once again painted themselves into a corner by touting this moonshot thing but not fully committing to it. Should have just said nothing at all, and left the coalition talks for after the elections...

Forget about PA. ASA also wants them to sign a declaration. The DA's response seems to be "whatabout what you did" instead of formally committing to their own pact.

Put yourself in the shoes of a smaller party. How do you commit to something that the largest party refuses to commit to?

They should all just scrap this moonshot thing and put forward their positions to the voters. Leave the coalition talk for after the elections. This bickering is benefiting the ANC more than them by taking focus away from the destruction caused by the ANC...

Agree. ASA are also a bunch of tossers who are rudderless.

The smaller parties aren't having to sign a pact to refuse to work with the ANC though. And yes I understand that there's no need for them and also see their point that they wouldn't want to leave room for the DA to weasel out into a coalition with the ANC in the event the moonshot fail to beat the ANC.
