you cannot come with an entrenched mindset to a negotiating table... you may not like your political rival, but if they have the numbers, they get a seat at the table...in the end, you going to need every little bit (seat)....

Both choices (DA and EFF) will have advantages and disadvantages for them and either way, they will upset a lot of people.

At the end of the day, it's going to come down to behind the scenes talk (which we are not privy to) and they will team up with whoever demands less compromise from them.

Right now, it looks like the DA will have less demands of them (given that Steenhuisen is outspoken about preventing the EFF from getting into power) but you never know what can happen.

unfortunately, ...they will spin ideologically...but in essence, a partner that will allow the shitfest of what their governance is at to continue. There might be a will from the top to govern in the interest of the people, but party and by extension the state is at : how much, you quickly for myself.

They'd probably even work with DA before them.

Even ANCYL has said that they wouldn't mind working with DA.

But then again ANC flips flops quickly (although not as quick as Juju).

Your covid stance was not based on same scientific reasons as your stance on trans. If you just stop and think about it, you will realize it. But, I am not holding my breath.

Yes @surface there are good leaders out there. But they aren't in politics

Just look at Trump and Biden supporters. Both pretending their choice of geriatric is awesome when the reality is both should be pushing daisies.

The ANC is more ideologically aligned with EFF but at the end of the day, politics is more about resources, business interests and money.

I suspect the DA will have less demands of the ANC given that the DA's funders will view the EFF as more a threat to their business interests than ANC. More of the ANC's power may remain intact if they chose DA over EFF and this is why a lot of the ANC veterans are now starting to side with DA.

Of course, we don't know what will happen behind the scenes. Maybe Malema will come up with something too good for the ANC to refuse.

The dilemma is simple, those parties There, UIM, ISANCO and the Spectrum party might be lambs who don’t challenge the DA and are well behaved by they are useless, they are not going to contribute anything to the Moonshot, yes I insist on calling them the Moonshot.

The rhetoric about common values and all that is nice but it's not going to get them anywhere close to removing the ANC, the whole point of a coalition is finding a way to make it work despite the uncommon values, if everyone has shared values then why do we have so many parties?

Stop with the nonsense of fooling around and admit you have a problem, then you can start attempting to fix it. The PA represents the most realistic chance at their Gauteng ambition.

Think about it this way, Mandela used to say he will not view certain people as enemies just because the West views them as enemies. The other parties will use the same logic i.e, they don't want to get involved in a scuffle between the DA and PA.

Some parties could raise similar concerns about working with the VF+ due to Oom Groenewald's pro-Apartheid past but instead they chose to put it aside.

The PA have already been proven to be untrustworthy. Instead of the ASA boat sticking to a course, it wanders aimlessly.
