East London's Duncan Village resident, Akhona Qanata, 23, says she is not expecting any change in her area after voting ANC at the Gompo Hall on Wednesday.

"I am not working, and there's no hope that I will ever get permanent employment. Coming to vote here was for nothing, but I am an ANC supporter.

"I have been sitting at home for three years. It's hard, our place is not benefitting from development projects.

"My neighbours are also struggling to get employment," said Qanata.

because they believe over and over and over again that if they vote ANC they will get jobs.

The thing that bothered me the most was some woman in the queue who looked like she would start drama at any minute, that's the thing that scares me the most about queues.

The 3 ballots were a breeze, and thankfully no drama.

Multiple posts seen on X have claimed victory for different parties.
In a post, X user @ChrisEcxel102 claimed that the ANC would win the national elections based on IEC data showing that the ANC had already claimed 70.33% of the votes counted by the IEC.
However, News24 can confirm the data used references by-elections at Madibeng local municipality in the North West that took place on 15 May 2024
Election results will only start to trickle in after election polls close at 21:00.

Do stands really make a difference? I’ve always wondered especially if you already know going in who you’ll vote for.
