IEC finally gives the order to go manual.
BREAKING | IEC tells presiding officers to drop faulty scanners, use manual voting and assist long queues
The IEC have sent out a letter to their voting stations to deal with long queues.
IEC staff were urged to use the manual voting process where issues with the Voter Management Device (VMD) are experienced.
All voters that are in the queue whether or not they are inside the voting stations must be assisted. At 21:00, security officers at the voting station must stand at the end of the queue to stop new voters joining the queue.

It's both in some areas, but largely it's just a broken system.
Not enough tablet devices. (3-4 hour queues the whole day) Only 2 at our station, could have done with 4. I think they underestimated how long scanning an ID takes when the servers are under load.

They probably are. Not in a majority sense but they might very well end up with the most votes there...
Then they did not win KZN, you guys need to stop with the alternative winning thing you came up with, this is not a by election, there is only one way to win it.

Then no one is winning KZN. Or GP. Or the national election.

Do you at least now know what winning means in this context or are you still as confused as yesterday?

I’ve never been confused.

Whoever gets the highest share of the votes wins.

It’s literally that simple.

I think it's the green, black and gold that will be changing the definition after this election.

I'm happy to concede that a majority is the proper definition of a win. We'll see if the thieves will do the same...
