Something I wonder about will we see GNU 2 (ANC/DA/IFP) at national and some provincial (GP, KZN) levels?
 
Agree with JS. I can sympathise with the IFP a bit due to MK, but Action SA was beyond pathetic.

Steenhuisen is adamant that the DA is committed to the Multi-Party Charter but acknowledges some of their partners seem to be underperforming: “I am disappointed in some of the results. ActionSA said they would bring 10%.”

The future of the Multi-Party Coalition seems decidedly uncertain, especially given some of the bad blood which continues to swirl between figures like ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba and Steenhuisen.

JS highlights the victories in municipalities currently governed by the Doomsday coalition in WC

John Steenhuisen says the DA has comfortably retained the Western Cape and won in areas such as Knysna and Beaufort West. He adds that all these areas tasted ANC/EFF/PA governance and have now decided to go back to the DA.

The DA is also thinking of legal action against the incompetent cadres at the IEC:

The DA says it is considering legal options when it comes to the IEC’s performance with regards to voting procedures.
Steenhuisen does not mince his words: “The IEC has been a complete disaster this elections. It’s our biggest opponent that wasn’t on the ballot sheet.”
He claims the IEC may have cost the DA 1% of the vote.

Parties attacked each and the DA gave as much as they got if not more. They talked smack about other parties in their campaign messages (SMS, etc). The media thing is largely imagined, the DA were no more target than any other party in the spotlight (they placed themselves there, and by their own admission it was a deliberate campaign). SM influencers supported parties who paid them or supported them which was mainly the ANC. ASA paid ChrisExcel a day before the elections to promote them when he'd spent the rest of the run up vacillating between the EFF and then later MK.

Dont take the idiot seriously. He's a grown man who still lives at home with his dad.

He still needs to grow into a adult and gain the ability to provide for himself.

The other MPC okes are disappointing. Seems like ASA truly is just the opposition to the opposition...

I wonder what'll happen after this election... If they'll remove Mashaba and continue or if they'll merge with DA again, if Gogo and JS leaves in 2026.

Oh please. The media's favourite party - Rise Mzansi - hardly got any criticism at all and received media attention far outweighing their support. For example, the leader was on CNN the day before the election for heaven's sake, introduced as a "challenger" to the ANC.

I'm enjoying the silence, actually. No more Tweets being posted by his Bra is GP. No more going on about how epic the GLM is and how it's going to have a Decisive win. It's.. nice. I thank the ANC voters for the peace in these political threads.

Personally. I stood in line for 2.5h, with a smile. And I would have done the same if it took 6h. I had a lovely time chatting with my fellow citizens. Nothing short of physical inability to do so could prevent me from doing my bit to make sure that a healthy measure of sanity lives on in the WC. It wouldn't have mattered to me if it had hailed.
