Yeah, but you, me @PrimeSteak are probably not representative of the average DA voter - I'd honestly stay in line for up to 6h to vote. But lots of people don't have that sense of civic duty and will only go vote if the lines are short outside the voting station. My voting station hasn't reported in Cape Town, but turnout was 80% in 2019, I'll estimate it was around 70% this year given the preliminary data I was given at 6.30PM on voting day.

I think his political views are mostly valid. At least as valid as what the DA supporters post, they're just as fanatic as he is about the GLM and I suspect some of his posts are aimed at trolling them.

Where do "political views" and "personal views" diverge?

For example, is blaming the voters a political or personal view? I guess that's a "valid" view it's also delusional.

But Zille is a problem. She's erratic and past her time. This was a prime opportunity for them to push towards 30%. I don't blame Steenhuisen, every interview I've seen with him is rational and well thought out. She on the other hand is a loose canon especially when it comes to being caught up in social media. He's just caught up in the crossfire through association with her...

Wellp, for the most part I've accepted that sometimes I'm going to arrive during a quiet stretch, and sometimes during a glut. And that I have nothing better to do than get my ticket and sign it, so...

On the other hand. Of course. The IEC should ALWAYS strive to improve the voting experience. It's one of the fundamental aspects of their raison d'être. If there are any indication that they've failed in that, especially if there's reason to believe it's with intent, then hearings to get to the bottom of why, are entirely appropriate.

It seems OOC for me that he went so fanatic the past while so, i dismiss that as trolling.

We probably shouldn't be discussing members so much. Their views are their views and as valid as anyone's. That other poster getting personal is unbecoming.

Please identify any social media faux pas from Zille this election cycle. You are also greatly underestimating the positive effect that Zille likely had on getting the DA base fired up, especially in the WC where the DA are posting extraordinary numbers in their strongholds (as in 90+ percent rather than say 80.0 percent to account for the loss of some coloured voters to the PA). The DA was also successful in getting back from Afrikaans voters across the board from the FF.

She is your typical granny with no filter, she should have been phased out years ago but im not sure that would miraculously make the DA a 30% party.

I drove past a few times during the day and finally went at 6pm. They estimated 1 hour waiting but since our 2 year old was with they bumped us straight to the front so not popular with the rest of the queue. People were complaining about waiting 1 hour so can imagine there were many that just never bothered. I guess we can compare once everything is in
