The only thing parties have to agree on is Speaker and President by the deadline (or in the case it becomes a minority government, don't need an agreement.)

We will know who will (initally) hold those positions for the 7th National Assembly by the end of it.

Swearing in will probably start around noon. Elections will likely only finish after the markets close, but that's just my intuition.

Reading in between the lines, I think there is likely a provisional agreement (not publicly known yet, of course) between the ANC, DA and the IFP. Technically Zondo shouldn't have consulted with Cyril but in practice? Hmm...

I have a feeling that we won't hear about agreements until after the elections on Friday.

Current cabinet has far too many overlaps. They have to reduce the number of portfolios such that the ministers don't step on each other's toes.

Difficulty of getting everyone to work together increases exponentially with the size of the number of people. Getting the ANC and DA to have very different portions of the government is absolutely critical if you want it to work. The parties need to be able to maintain their individual identities.

That can't happen if you have McKenzie, Malema or Mashaba sitting in the corner throwing their toys out the cot the moment they cannot get what they want.

Yes i understand all that but i imagine getting the ANC to understand it wont be easy.

Both are happening. Although only 1/3 of MPs is needed for quorum, so MKs stunt won't work anyway.
