The SA Politics Thread Part 6

I cannot believe people are defending this Renaldo guy under the guise of freedom of speech, contradiction and context...

Are you trying to say that "Kill the boer, kill the farmer" carries the same derogatory connotation as calling a black person a "K"? Do you think calling a coloured a "bushie" or an Indian a "koelie" carries the same weight?

It doesn't and never will. How is that for context?

There are just some things you do not do. The DA will be best served by removing this guy from their ranks completely.
What do you think this means? And do you think the EFF supporters have the brain power to not take it literally? Lol.

Renaldo was using those words as hyperbole to show why Shoot the Boer is wrong. The intention is to show why this type of speech is wrong. He was using them academically, if crude.

Malema's context is.... muh apartheid, and that Boer is a "metaphor" for oppression ....therefore he can utter hate speech.

What do you think Malema's intention is?
Every time the Shoot the Boer issue pops up I say the same people would lose their **** if someone sings Shoot the Zulu or something. Would have been a far better way to get his point across than to use racist slurs. Boer isn't a racist slur.

Also lol if you guys think Renaldo used those words that one time in 2009. I can almost guarantee he says the same things today whenever Shoot the Boer is in the news.

tell that to the survivors of farm attacks who watched their own parents and siblings get raped and tortured to death in front of them

GTFO with that kak seriously
Tell me he didn't watch the video without telling me... Sigh, another one who just jumps on the bandwagon.

Oh I'm not standing behind the fool.
1. Firstly I like arguing.
2. I prefer truth to just reading headlines or watching edited videos

For this one it's simple, the actual context between what Malema said and what Renaldo said is this, Malema oh we've been singing this song forever and it's not about actually killing boer. Renaldo did a hyberpole where he said so what is the difference between me saying this and him saying that? Apparently a big one, as the majority deem it racist, so you see why it now makes a valid point. Also the entire video is 6 minutes long and he does actually say that isn't his views, but hey they tried with him and the whole Africa could vanish thing.
I got the part where he said its not his views, however, the "hyperbole" wasn't needed as the black SA'n race has actually lived this reality. So there is no hyperbole but rather a past reality which has literally happened so his intended figurative meaning is lost. You will notice as he draws comparisons he himself then drowns in his own reasoning that black people were actually killed. Therefore, his utterances can be viewed as insensitive and ignorant, and even racist.

@PrimeSteak - the voters of Beaufort West have had enough of the Doomsday Coalition and are sweeping them away. Residents were obviously pleased when Gayton was mayor (lol).

****ing beautiful, I saw DA took a ward off ANC in Newcastle, KZN too. Also means, the eastern region of WC is now under full DA control (except Knysna). Also saw IFP doing the same to ANC in KZN. MK only won one ward, although they did make inroads.

The people will eventually come back from PA.

THINGS CAN ONLY GET BETTER.

And yet again it escapes both of you because, like Renaldo, you're coming at this from an emotional point of view.

I can't help either of you.

People now making excuses for Renaldo and saying **** like "out of context". That's exactly what Malema and SAHRC say about Shoot the Boer.

You guys defending Renaldo are exactly the same hypocrites as the eff and hrc.
precisely, though the bit you seem to gloss over is all those EFF racists are still in parliament ...

So, how's Renaldo this morning? He say anything or he hiding?
Yeah, if even Gogo is saying, if its real, he's done... He's ****ed.

Like I said, DA won't compromise their strategy or the GNU, for Renaldo.

I think if they throw him out of Parly, he might leave DA entirely.

Who's emotional? I asked you a simple question.

It initiates the same amount of anger, if you sing that song in the wrong crowd, you either going to get beaten up and shot. The people who die in farm murders was someones father and mother most of the time.

It's actually worse since it leads to violence.

Forget it, you won't get them to understand, words are bad, it's better to kill someone then to call them the k word, even if you didn't

you are coming at it from an emotional point of view, yet somehow remain too blind to see it
you virtue signal about the significance of the K-word to a black person, that is EMOTION, duh

the same kind of emotion that someone would have after having suffered an actual farm attack, do you think "kill the boer" is just struggle song to a farm attack survivor?

pretending the one racial slur is more painful to one race than the other racial slur is to another race is ... well ... racist, how does that make you feel mr racist?

For his sake I do hope he has a backup career.. because if the DA do throw him out it is very unlikely any party will touch him for a good long while.

But it is, cause the majority has said and freedom of speech dictates you have to go with the majority.
