The SA Politics Thread Part 6

==> wants change
==> member of the party that has ruined SA over the past 30 years & most resistant to change.

Make this make sense, please?!
Hassan is equally impatient about the obstacles to more equal representation in South African politics. “There is a different set of rules for women and queer politicians,” she says. “A sense of ownership of young women who are public figures – that gives you very little room for mistakes.
I'm not really sure the ANC is the party for her. They're not exactly known for their "women and queer politicians"

The DA and Rise are much more progressive in that regard. She should go to one of them.

Fascinating indeed.

DA has also been consistently polling above 20% in the run-up. Only about two outliers. (13% and 18% by IPSOS)

Would be lovely to see DA break 25%.

I'm just a bit suspicious of Gareth Van Onselen's work polling the DA high. He is known to be pro DA, worked for the DA in the past and is the partner of Gwenn Ngwenya.

I'm sure you would also be suspicious if a source like MightyJamie known to be pro EFF produced polls that favoured the EFF? If there is another source which similar results, I'd take him more seriously.

The SRF polls aren't GVO's handiwork. SRF belongs to Frans Cronje.

Victory Research is GVO's thing.

Something that we've also neglected is the provinces. Sure, the provincial legislatures are crucial, but what we all forgot is NCOP.

The legislatures directly elect members to NCOP (National Council of Provinces, upper house of Parly). So...

So i.e. if the ANC loses their majorities in more provinces... They could completely lose control of NCOP and make lawmaking that much harder for them.

It is the end of ANC majority rule, ladies and gentlemen.

The ANC is going to keep NCOP even if they drop below 40% in parliament. The allocation is biased towards smaller provinces, secondly it's biased towards the big parties within those provinces.

Unless you can show us where in his methodology he is fraudulently upping the DA’s vote share for some supposedly nefarious plot to subconsciously get more people to back a winning horse, you’re just a delusional hack who doesn’t like the reality of the DA outgunning the Great Looting Movement.

And this guy claims to be a journalist o_O

Cyril signed more bills into law this last few days than the previous year. Wonder if he is worried that he will not get a oppertonity again to do it after the elections.
Electioneering plain and simple. Last of the bag of tricks...

You guys know if DA doesn't get above 50, SA is done, right?

It's going to be more loadshedding plus sanctions if these comrades stay in power, the Western world is just sitting and waiting for results.

Kenya was just declared the first major non NATO ally to the US, they have an actual democracy unlike this terrorist hole and it's going to be made very clear to everyone here post elections.

Not even his polling. But the reaction is the same on Twitter.

Any poll that puts DA at 18% or lower is credible. Any poll putting DA at 20 - 27% is fake and unreal...

They had years of coalition chaos and turmoil before they got where they are today.

We're at the crescendo of that now...
