Is there any reason people sometimes spell "Steenhuisen" as "Steenhuizen" or are both acceptable?

AFAIK, it's Steenhuisen but I can't count the amount of times I've seen him referred to as "Steenhuizen".
Probably because that 's' sounds like a 'z.' I think it's due to the Dutch origin of the name.

It is a blatant misspelling.

"huizen" is more common in Afrikaans hence the mix-up. E.g Van der Westhuizen.
