I"m sure this has been discussed ad nauseam already but I'm too lazy to search for it.

What are the chances and if high chance, who would the like parties be to a DA lead alliance or coalition national gov?

The head of elections for the ANC in Johannesburg, who is also a regional director at the City of Johannesburg, allegedly assaulted a female paramedic who treated and transported his injured brother to hospital on Saturday.

The head of elections for the ANC in Johannesburg, who is also a regional director at the City of Johannesburg, allegedly assaulted a female paramedic who treated and transported his injured brother to hospital on Saturday.

Paramedic Shalati Mushwana claimed that Justice Ngalonkulu also told her: "I own Gauteng" and threatened to get her fired.

Mushwana said her "crime" was asking Ngalonkulu to move his car, which was blocking the door of the ambulance that had transported his brother to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. The brother had allegedly been involved in an accident at Union Road in Eldorado Park.

"I asked him nicely to move the car so that I could offload the patient, and that is when he started swearing at me with the worst vulgar words you can imagine. I tried to explain that there was no way I could offload the patient with the car blocking the way. The person he was travelling with understood what I was trying to say, so he moved the car for me to offload the patient."

Mushwana said she then called security to assist her, and that's "when all hell broke loose".

"He started beating me in the chest and right shoulder while shouting at me saying: 'Do you know who I am? Do you know what I'm capable of? You are going to lose your job.'"

I'd like to add Change Starts Now for at least an honourable mention in the flop category. Not making it to the election is a flop in my book.

Problem is they didn't even make it to the elections.. so they're a pre-election flop.

The serious response to that though : It should be very clear to the big boys at the top now, that our politics is still very much personality based and some random banker who is as exciting as a wet fish just won't cut it for the average voter.

That should be a reminder to that paramedic to vote DA next week and to tell all her friends to do the same.

Your question is too difficult.

We have IFP in the MPC busy coalescing with the ANC in Greytown so who knows what will happen.

That's the case everywhere around the world. Politics is about playing to the people, not the shareholders...

That Njandini was something else though. It was like drying wet paint personified

It was fun watching the media fawn over him at least. Clearly The Emperor's New Clothes was never compulsory reading material in journalism school

But its amplified in SA. In other parts of the world, a person could at least make a dent in politics even if they're playing to shareholders... granted they'd never be more than a backbencher but they still could "surivive". In SA it became painfully obvious that Wodger would be lucky to see any votes.

Also, the predicted failure of new parties like Action SA, BOSA and Rise shows how difficult it is to make inroads in the SA electorate. The SA electorate is a tough cookie to crack...we're not easily enamored by small parties with bold claims.

So I'm not 100% sold on the failure of the new parties... I think a few will emerge from this cycle with a relatively stable level of support, we are definitely moving away from a majority party world into a coalition world with multiple smaller parties.
