If they attempt to go ahead with the GNU, they will likely be picking the EFF as their main partner. This will end in disaster. I don't think the GNU will go ahead.

He mentioned EFF first for a reason. Then IFP. Then DA. Then PA.

EFF isn't interested in a GNU, or so they say. They might wake up tomorrow with their mind having changed. DA won't work with them anyway. So nothing changes, this is just the ANC's pie in the sky wish, they will eventually be forced to make a call...

It's the easiest way for the them to blame other people when things stay the same in the future. There's very little incentive for other parties to shoulder the blame for the ANC's past crimes. This may be the ANC's wish, but is just more evidence that they haven't accepted the realities of their weak position

Exactly. They will be forced to make a choice. It's now up to Malema and the DA to be the partner that says no last... Lots of gaming ahead.

The language used by cyril so far is indicative of them being unable to accept blame or face the reality.

Cyril will soon have to learn that Parliament is not the ANC NEC. Consensus is not the way politics between parties work.

Especially when you've been hugely arrogant, egotistical and corrupt for 30 years. When you're wounded and down don't expect your former enemies to come willingly to help you. They won't forget and will want their pound of flesh

The President of the Great Liberation Movement has spoken, makube njalo.
Good for him, doesn't mean anyone took it seriously. What he's asking for is for all the other parties to help save the ANC, to the detriment of themselves. Cyril is about to learn the hard way that you eventually need to grow a pair, you can't leave everything to consensus and try to appease everyone...
