Got to agree with rietroll here, there's nothing value adding in that proposal. There's not finance or treasury problem. That department is one of the best run with very competent people on the ground. Sure, don't appoint Shivambu but the ANC have mostly done a good job keeping the department free of their usual incompetence.
Except for weekend special Des Van Rooyen and Gupta enabler Gigaba (who somehow made it into parliament again). I agree that the current 'man with the hat' is fine but the ANC has played loose with the Finance Ministry before.

KZN confirmed. GNU 2 + NFP in KZN. Paywalled.
Good. At least the DA now can't use the 'its not us it's province'- excuse in some of the sh£tholes their councillors preside over in KZN.

But I think they get to use the 'its not us- it's the municipality' for another 2 years, and the Western Cape's, 'its not us- it's national' for another 5 years. Albeit it has to now change to 'its not us- it's because we don't have a majority in national'.

Part of what the DA wants is for national to shift over responsibility to the provinces. Like policing and metro rails.

Yip. Those honourable bankers definitely have everyone's best interest at heart and will never do anything like price fix the Rand.
You just have no idea what you are talking about.

Price fixing the rand would be done at the reserve bank by pinning it to something else, this would likely require passing some legislation, amending the reserve bank act(or whatever its called.)it is not something that the minister of finance can do who is just responsible for drawing up a budget.

Didn't some banks admit to it and even settled fines? Some had their cases dropped due to the weakness of the commission and some still under investigation?

Except Tito got his drivers license ages ago, but moaning about everything is what you people do, so carry on.
It isn't moaning, just a remark about a useless and now irrelevant ANC lackey.
