Speaker normally abstains. So it will be 39/40. I guess no one will be clamouring for that position.

It will be first be the speaker position, so if there is a deadlock it will be there, who breaks the tie there? Because there won't be a speaker to abstain?

It will be first be the speaker position, so if there is a deadlock it will be there, who breaks the tie there? Because there won't be a speaker to abstain?

They won't. They're the biggest in KZN, so that surely makes everything ok. Even tho if national results are bugged as they claimed, then their near-majority in KZN is too, but don't ask them that.

I saw somewhere that MK will not send anyone to any of the provincial legislatures or national on Friday for those....

so in KZN, that would remove 37 of those votes.

I would imagine that quorum is 40 & then majority of the remaining 53 votes to be elected speaker etc?
