News24 has learnt that the ANC, DA, IFP and NFP leaders inKwaZulu-Natal have started meeting to finalise a provincial government ofnational unity.
NFP leader Ivan Barnes was the last to arrive.
Together, these parties hold 41 out of 80 seats in the provincial legislature.
The MK Party has 37 seats and the EFF 2.
An ANC-DA-IFP coalition in KZN couldpave the way for a similar arrangement at national level.

COALITION NATION | GNU deal in striking distance as clock ticks down

A cautious "all systems go" emerged from Tuesday's talks to create a government of national unity (GNU) as the clock ticks down to the crucial first sitting of Parliament in just 48 hours.

News24 can reveal that, by Tuesday afternoon, the talks had reached a crucial milestone: the majority of parties had agreed to "unite" behind President Cyril Ramaphosa's announcement of the GNU vision after an ANC leadership meeting last week.

The agreement relates to cooperation in both Cabinet and Parliament.

Same with SACP and COSATU. Want to push their voices but unwilling to earn the right...
